LOL Tigers

The Storm currently have a big four - Hughes, Munster, Grant and Pappy. All command around the million dollar mark and are considered the premier spine in the NRL.
Pappy just signed for less. I would argue only Munster is on really big money out of those with the others heading that way but there yet

Hughes on $800 until end 2026...Grant $1 mill end 2026....Papps $750 (so they say) for the 1 year extension. He was offered $950 for a multi year deal.... Munster $1 mill to end 2027

Hughes on 800 is a steal and makes that spine His game management is improving steadily and is a great running threat, kicks pretty well. What a bargain. One of the best players in the game last season. Bellamy can make a 7, with the standards they set. Watching hughes get roasted by bellamy in press conferences for taking poor options in games they won, shows how far off the pace we are with our shrugs and hugs approach

The more I think about it, the more I think Bateman was just unhappy at the Tigers and will come good when he joins us. I hope it happens, and soon. But I think right now he's just milking the Tigers for every last dollar before he jumps ship.

If that is the case I stand corrected

Hilarious - people betting money that Wests will win the comp!
Sure, of course, anything's possible! 🙂

I think Luai will make a big difference at the Tigers, much like Crichton did at the Dogs. He's won four straight premierships and a State of Origin series, and yet somehow he is still underrated. He'll also have Api as his dummy half, along with a bunch of other talented youngsters and strong recruits like Terrell May and Sunia Turuva. They will have some excellent players at key positions. Unfortunately they will also have Benji as their coach.

On the news last night they said the ceo claims the tigers have the best spine in the comp for 2025. Must be smoking some good gear
I actually think their spine is excellent now that they have Luai, but Api is starting to decline and Bula still hasn't hit his straps.

It won't matter whilst the culture of the club is so sick, though.

They will have a good spine. Their weakest link is probably stronger than most teams.

Nowhere near the storm though. Who is their weakest spine player? Munster?

So four of seven West Tigers board members ban the other three for 5+ years……

How could you sign with that club.

Just goes to show how much you need a professional front office and board to succeed.

When is the NRL going to step in and revoke their licence and give it to an expansion candidate team?

I’m glad those days seem to be behind us and now the Tigpies may have delivered us the Large Bros for our future.

Onwards and Upwards!

I read something about Balmain wanting to merge with the potentially incoming NZ South Island team (the Keas) & leaving the JV with Wests, with Wests then having to make or break it as a standalone club again.

The concept seemed to add weight to the Keas bid to enter the NRL.

Imagine that! Interesting times ahead!
