How must he be feeling now. Talk about how to best destroy you're career. I'm sure there was more to it than meets the eye. If Flanagan was the problem then learn to live with it. We all have to work with bosses we hate at some stage of out lives. Under Flanagan he played the best football of his life. Why would you move from an average club (with some talent around you) to a pathetic excuse for one.

I don’t really understand the clean out from Ryles. It’s like he was desperate to start again. Sure, Gutho and RCG were past their best, but they’re experienced and I feel Ryles should have shown some patience in letting the old heads guide the next crop. Throwing Iongi into fullback without any runs on the board or competition for the spot, is madness. They looked like a frightened team today of strangers today. Some experience could have stemmed the flow in the first half. I kinda feel sorry for them.

RCG was a strange one, thought they lacked punch without him, Moses will help them but they lack punch in the middle from what I seen.
Some strange selections on the edges in Williams and Kelma over Kautoga was poor oversight for me, damaging player who has a higher ceiling than Kelma and Williams is a middle for me.
Though the worst selection in my opinion was Robinson with Townsend over Rodwell at the Rorters, I thought Townsend was on his decline when the Sharks let him go.

Townsend was cooked but did have a renaissance in 2022 with the Cowboys, before slowing down again. I think he was purchased by the Chooks to provide depth and if Walker was fit, he’d be nowhere near FG.
I don’t rate Townsend but I also think the Chooks got smashed in the forwards and Nathan Cleary would have struggled to make an impact on Thursday night.
It’ll be fascinating to see what happens with the Chooks season because their roster is odd, given the coin we know they have at their disposal. Are they keeping their powder dry? Not usually a tactic Uncle Nick is known for.
Some people are of the view they are front loading contracts this season to have a better squad for 2026 / 2027..
