[Resurrected] Lol @ Parra

poor gutho. qui cum canibus concumbunt cum pulicibus surgent

Always reminds me of the movie 'New Jack City'

And a nope to gutho from me.

That would've been an interesting meeting to listen in on.
Ryles about a month ago: I want Gutho
Ryles: Yeah he can leave.

Though I read gutho is still contracted for one more season. old old knees.

I wouldn't be surprised if he sings with Easts for two years. He'd play in the centres and be a back-up fullback and five-eight. Easts have lost some backline talent for 2025 and, with Gutho, you know he's always busting his gut.
The other club who could best use his utility value is Illawarra.

DCE looked busted after origin and he is not getting any younger. To DCE's credit he did recover and finish the season pretty well especially against the Dogs in the Semi but he is not getting any younger. Every dog has his day and he needs to retire whilst he is still at the top. He is 36 and IMO he should be thinking of retiring at the end of 2025. The retirement and exit of a player of DCE's significance to a side requires planning. Look at what happened to Parra after Sterling & Co retried. Gutho is 30 and should have at least 2 more good seasons in the tank. I expect he is out of our price range but I consider he would be a handy addition to our squad. I believe that Ryles has made a mistake cutting Gutho loose and will regret it next season. I would be very surprised if Moses stays at Parra past his current contract as the Eels don't look like being in a grand final again before he retires. I expect Moses will land at the Roosters and Gutho at the Dogs.

Don't know if the punters at Easts Leagues club could put up with him on stage singing for two years.

With all due respect, this post is a little ironic given DCE is in much better physical condition than Gutho, yet Daly has one good year left and Gutho has two?

The poor guy can hardly run; he limps now. That’s why the Eels are happy to let him walk because he is cactus. He is still very quick between the ears but is almost a passenger. It’s really pronounced how bad his knees are…he has this huge lump on the inside of his right knee and hobbles.

I think he is worth money to a club that is rebuilding, in that he'll give them a shot of experience and professionalism but he is not a marquee signing or missing piece of a premiership puzzle in his current physical state.

Not a good start for Jason "I'm Excited" Ryles and his future tenure at the declining Eels.
Think Gutho will stay on, not sure many clubs will want to gamble on Gutho's fitness in another gruelling NRL season. But, in the end it's always about the $'s.

Looks like from a club perspective , could well be anticipating or planning for D C E to still go around in season 26 .
Would be some natural doubt if Joey Walsh although apparently showing a lot of promise , would be ready to take on the full duties of a i st grade 7 for a full season just with one league season in Flegg or even reserve grade under his belt .
Might not be the case and of course really good if he can progress as soon as possible as his deal is only for 3 years .
Guess that much will depend also of course on how D C E gets through next season with the option of pulling out of rep duties , and his present form is still in the main , up to a quite good standard .
Large could be on a similar projectory and always again the option of playing Brooks as a half and every likelihood also that Large could be quite capable of playing at either 7 or 6 or in the centres going forward .
If Walsh really comes on well next season and D C E does call it a day , not the worst state of affairs for Manly

gutho is more like foran

Cant really compare them to DCE as they are so different in the way they play the game

If DCE is still here in 26 we are in big trouble . His after origin was pretty lacklustre . If he continues to play origin and goes into preservation mode just before and after , its a big chunk of the season where blooding someone would prove better

unless he is on 250 as a utility maybe but we need a new driver of the team. It needs to plot a different course and get more ruthless in its style

I can understand the decision and it almost professional from the Eels (which is a worry)

He has given so much to that club but is getting on - they have let him know they are not sure what they will be able to offer him (due to having a new role) and said for him to take care of himself and look around.

I would love to find a way to get him back here but considering the contract he would command there is just no where for him with us. I agree the roosters would seem like a smart place for him considering what they have lost but can see him more at the dragons

Yes it would be great to see him do a ‘Steve Knight’ and finish his career back at Manly.

But where would Manly play him and what sort of salary would he be after, even if Parramatta are picking up much of the freight? He would want to go to a club where there is greater certainty of playing first grade every week.

As Isz and the media have stated, the Dragons are pretty keen.
