SO it is now LOL@everyone else.
On the weekend, the only clubs really mentioned to take on Peats were the NRL run clubs. Obviously, a very, strong push from the NRL for one of their teams to take on Peats in such short notice. Titans coach wasn't after a hooker but that is what he was given. Bravo NRL for orchestrating this deal.

WILL HIS SIGNING BOOST THE TITANS?
Peats’ signing would greatly help the Gold Coast’s squad.
The 25-year-old is considered the next hooker in line for NSW and the Titans are light on quality in their No. 9 ranks — despite having four on their books.
Nathan Friend, Kierran Moseley, Matt Srama and utility Daniel Mortimer are all off contract at the end of the year, but none have been in outstanding form.
The fact that their first choice hooker in Friend is 35-years-old reflects poorly on back ups, Mortimer and Moseley — Srama is sidelined for the season with an ACL injury.
Peats, who is averaging 73 minutes per game this year, greatly overshadows the likes of Friend (46), Mortimer (40) and Moseley (21).
Because of that long game time, his stats are superior in both attack and defence.
A potential spine in 2017 involving Peats and talented young playmakers Kane Elgey and Ashley Taylor is a mouth-watering prospect and a real look to the future.
Peats is a passionate player who gives his all for his teammates and fans, both on and off the field — there’s no doubt he’d continue to do that at the Titans

With the exception of needing a hooker, I agree with everything you said about it being an NRL/Greenslime stitch up.
