You don’t think Koula & Jake (missing the first 15 mins) didn’t have an impact on the game??
I know for a fact it is a 80 minute game and the biggest Impact to a team that loses is lack of resilience
We did not just lose we totally capitulated
Never had the Resolve to bounce back at any stage
Its Not The Manly Way

The Club keeps showing us in their Netflix pre season series just how tough they train
Its a pity they dont show that toughness on the field

Honest to God what an absolute plonker! But he has given me a very good laugh this morning so thanks Matt! So far as his playing goes I predict he will continue to provide occasional glimpses and regular disappointment. But this whole thing is so funny it is hard not to feel good about it!

GIVE UP NOW .... Look away ... no good can come from this ...
We can not Look away from our mediocre Standards and keep living in denial from our decade of Premiership Winning decline feathered friend

We must become accountable
Without accountability there is no Credibility

Great things come from accountability
Why is accountability is such an integral part of success .....
When we take responsibility for our actions and decisions, it fosters growth that ultimately leads to achieving significant accomplishments

He must regret this interview

The 29-year-old prop accepts the Sea Eagles have salary-cap pressures and has no issue with Manly coach Anthony Seibold.

“They offered me a two-year deal,” he said.

“They wanted me to play that starting role with Taniela (Paseka), but it takes a toll on your body doing that.

“It was a lot to ask to do two years as a starting front-rower for minimum wage.

“I really thought about it, I wanted to meet them in the middle somewhere, but they had no salary cap space.

“I am fine with ‘Seibs’ and everyone at Manly, but I can’t play for that amount when that sort of money is given to a kid just coming out of a school who hasn’t played a game of NRL.

“I loved the club and the squad of players, but I have four boys and bills to pay, so I had to look after my future.”

Not sure if he regrets it,he is signing to play Reggie's,not be a starting NRL prop.
If he ends up getting a spot in the top 30 we have to pay him a fair bit more than the $60K he is earning now.
If he plays well enough to be a starting prop then he increases his value for next year.
The kicker is him staying healthy for an extended period of time to cash in next year I guess.
I would guess as a Reggie's contract when the season starts he is not doing the same training regime as the NRL squad and has the 3 days as a worker and training etc ..for the boxing?

Do yourselves a favour and listen to James Graham’s podcast with Matt Lodge.

The guy deserves a second chance and you can’t begrudge him for looking for a better deal than the one he was originally offered. At the end of the day, he has a young family to look after and rightly so that should be his number one priority.
Also, if Jake Trbojevic backs his character then that’s good enough for me.
Bla Bla Bla really. If he had bashed your sister or daughter, I can guarantee you you would think different. Until you have been directly effected by DV, you really know nothing about it. USA wasn't his only fight with a woman remember. No more will I say, but the man is a dog.

You obviously didn’t listen to any of the podcast. Feel free to block me you 🤡.

No, but what better opportunity for a man who talked the talk to do the walk?
He let the opportunity slip by ... likely due to a multitude of reasons
He gave it his best shot as did everyone, the Roosters pack were never headed tho. For Lodge to do his thing, it needed a colective effort from his fellow forwards, but alas this never came, barring Ola of course who stood out in a losing pack.

Matt Lodge returns to Manly in deal that combines construction, boxing and footy

by Dan Walsh and Christian Nicolussi

Matt Lodge will end up playing for Manly after all in 2025 after initially baulking at the club’s extension offer. He’ll work on a construction site and combine his fledgling boxing career with a second-tier NRL deal.

While Clint Gutherson hit the ground running during St George Illawarra’s scrimmage with the Sea Eagles, Lodge’s return to Manly was announced a few hours later.

Lodge, 29, has been on a market bereft of front-rowers since rejecting a two-year extension at Manly late last year worth around $150,000 a season.

He finished 2024 in impressive fashion after battling back from an ACL rupture and torn biceps. He held discussions with South Sydney and the Dragons over the summer.

Lodge’s second-tier deal with Manly includes permission for him to step into the ring and will have him initially balancing his Sea Eagles training with construction work.

He will begin the year in reserve grade and be given the chance to earn a top 30 spot, just as he did when he arrived at the club in 2023 on a $1200-a-week train and trial deal.

Lodge’s second professional fight is scheduled for March 2, a week prior to the start of Manly’s NRL and NSW Cup campaigns.

“It wasn’t a case of me wanting to leave this club but the offer elsewhere at the time which I thought I was leaving for, was too good to refuse,” Lodge said.

“I don’t need to go into all the details, but it is what it is and everything always works out in the end.

“Although I need to pay the bills, it’s not all about money … I’ll continue to work three days a week on a building site where I’ve been for the past six months, and I’ll also be preparing for my second pro fight in early March.”

LOLOLOL. at least we are now paying him what he is worth - fuucck all

The players with potential we have outside of our 30 is ridiculous:
1. Lehi Hopoate
2. Caleb Navale
3. Matt Lodge
4. Chris Patolo
5. Michael Chee Kam (according to club website)

That's some effective roster management, and makes up for the Aitasi James and Dean Matterson spots.
Must be planning to make a run in the second half of the season, as none of this talent can play the first 10 rounds? 🙄

Supplementary list, which these guys are on, and which replaced the development contracts, allow them to play all year now. No Round 11 restriction or whatever it was before.

Pretty sure the same goes for the train and trials too.
