Sorry for some that don't want to hear about this bloke , but i was watching some old manly ( tapes ) in between washing the cars and dog and was blown away by the amount of impact the great dessie hasler was at lock forward (13) for us . Not the biggest player running around , probably 85 kilos but fuchk me he was awesome. The music in the back round to some of his highlights was Sledgehammer, and so fitting . The way he would launch himself at the defense or run through a hole with pill in hand was pretty to watch . Which brings me to ask the question. Where was hasler best suited ? A brilliant half as well but for me he seemed to get better at lock with lyons and toovey as halves . All in all a brilliant player for manly .

Here here Brad!! Mate he was tough as teak wasnt he and just a real footballer mate. Bit like a Cam Munster type, reliable and guaranteed to do a job for u in whatever position or circumstance. Wonderful manly man he was!

Apparently one of the hardest trainers there was. On the way home from footy training, he'd stop by a field, and do laps. The guy was a freak of nature.

He carried balls n witches hats in his boot to do this.

Pretty sure is origin debut was on the wing.

He used to jump and smother players in defence and was a dead set greyhound with the line open.
I think that's right about his origin debut on the wing @manlyfan76 .
Geez not many would remember that.
I remember fatty played an Amco cup game on the wing too.
