Laurie Daley

It seems that Silvertails only thrives on hate and vitriol. The forum probably wouldn't survive without the butthurt bitterness and bile expressed by many of the members on here.
I certainly don't hate the idea, I just want to see a defensive coach brought in that can bring some starch to our fragile team. That to me is the priority.

Doesn't anyone think his presence would be a positive for young players thinking of moving to Manly?? I can imagine it might be.

I'm with you in this one SER8.
It doesn't matter what the club does it's just never going to be enough.
I for one think that Joey Walsh and Onitoni Large would look forward to be coached by one of the best halves of his era and current NSW coach.

I don't see his role being anymore than that and how that's bad.

100% @Seagles68 and I think we will get one for next season. I predict that our head coach in 2027 will be with us next season as our defence coach. It might not be a coincidence that the "primary" candidates expertise is in defensive fundamentals and tackling technique .....

You might be missing the fact that most people were hoping for a Seibold sacking, not more support for Mr 50% is a Successful Season

Ok. I'll bite. Who is the primary candidate to be our defensive coach?

Just thinking that maybe his advisor role is to mentor some of the young halves we have coming through the ranks eg Walsh and Large - Large being touted as a potential centre first 5/8th later on this forum, maybe a similar trajectory to Daley himself.

He was one of a group of generation players that came through the Raiders system, again that experience and knowledge of what it takes to become successful in football and life maybe handy.

I think Matt Ballin is the primary candidate to be our Head Coach in 2027. I am projecting that he comes to us next season, as an Assistant Coach. His contract with the Broncos finishes in November.

Yep despite what a number on here think, I'm sure all of the players would welcome having a legend like Daley around. And as you mention, the young guys especially would welcome his input

Wonder if that will make ST members happy ???

They’re a jolly lot on here aren’t they.

As they intimated on NRL360, why would someone who has aspirations to be a head of football need a “sounding board”? A head of football is supposed to provide the answers, not someone who has to ask the questions. It might make sense if it was a Wayne Bennett type, but Laurie Daley? Just another step on a downward spiral to mediocrity, which will be enshrined when Seibold appoints himself Head of Football.
