It seems to be conventional wisdom on here that “Croker may not be here next year”.

Can someone please fill me in on why this is? I haven’t heard any rumours about this, I’m aware he wants to play on and there is no process underway for medical retirement.

Is there any substance to this conventional wisdom? It seems like nothing more than a collective wishful thinking to me?

Someone on here said a mate of Lachlan Croker had told him at the last game of the year that retirement due to concussion would be happening before next year. (can’t remember who posted)

I have just done a search and it was @Mals who said he spoke to a mate of Croker's on the hill at Friday's game and "he said it will be announced soon he will be retiring due to concussion."

I posted on another thread that it is highly unlikely that a player that has been out a whole season due to concussion would ever play again. Why why why hasn’t the club put in for a medical retirement. The nrl wouldn’t be able to argue against that, seeing as they are so hot on concussions and player welfare

How do you know they haven’t and if Croker doesn’t want to retire,no one can make him

The thread Nazis wont be happy with this new addition.
Must admit I’m slowly becoming one! Saw a new Lachlan Croker thread and thought, heck he’s only been here about 10yrs and he doesn’t have a thread! lol

I am sure his ability to play including any risk is being or has been assessed by people far more qualified than any of us. Unless I am mistaken? I would also imagine any assessment would be made based upon the likelihood he will on basis of probability experience some kind of head knock again especially if he continues to play at hooker. The radio silence in relation to his playing status is exactly that and until the club informs us of his position none of us will really know what is happening with him.
