Really looked like the most minimal contact and he dogs it for a penalty, bunker gets involved and here we go.

But what's that he has to go for a HIA?
Words don't express my (or DCE's) joy at that.
Forget Toms p!ss weak one also, way worst than Flano's The rules are forcing players to take dives

When does the HIA replacement get activated? Is it only when you have 2 players go down?
I thought if there was foul play (i.e. report or send off) you could also activate?

Pretty sure I saw Flanagan wave at our players and laugh as he got the penalty, only to be told seconds later to leave the field. The crowd absolutely gave it to him. This is all the NRL need to do to stop players diving. There’s no risk to the game if they take this stance. A player that is genuinely concussed, will show signs anyway, so they’ll be treated accordingly. If a player is sent off that doesn’t actually require an assessment, a strong message not to milk penalties will be sent!

Only issue with that approach is a free interchange... but on balance, I would agree

Yeah that’s a good point but as Mave suggests, it’s already being abused. I guess you also consider that something has to actually happen to trigger the scenario so won’t be too frequent in a game. Then you factor in that not too many teams want an interchange unless it’s a tired middle. So that’s 2-3 players out of possible 13 that you’d want to sub. If it’s a half or a damaging second rower or outside back, chances are you’re better with them out on the field, than off it, even if they get a rest.
