Kurt Capewell

That "s also an issue with guys like Siro and to a lesser extent Jet Ski , just how much interest there is from other clubs for their services and a realistic market value based on recent playing input . Same with Walker of course for that matter . Club could be more inclined to retain Walker on a reduced salary [ though probably would prefer to see some more footy from him this season or at least in the near term ] Maybe same with Siro, . Jet Ski and Boyle are probably another matter . Just pleased that Shu and Olokoa - atu have been signed for longer term deals .Same ideally with Harper soon as well .

Be a great signing if we could get him for the same amount as Siro. Perfectly suited to the faster 6 again game. And as many have said already, he would be a much better signing than Sua.

Versatile and good quality
I reckon he is definitely an upgrade on Sirro and JetSki and would add plenty - has a great attitude

If he's available at 450 K, then Capewell would be an outstanding pickup. Connor Watson at 400 K would also give us additional depth and versatility, with Capewell, across multiple positions. (Particularly if Fainu is no longer available for us in 2022.) Watson covers all backline positions, halves and hooker, and Capewell back row, lock and centre. Murray Taulagi at around the same money would also work well, in tandem with these two. Taulagi as a fullback backup for Turbo, can also cover wing and centre well. Out of those three Capewell goes straight into 12, Taulagi to left winger and Watson to 14. (This is subject to Fainu coming back, and how Lawton goes for us this season.) Garrick, Croker, Gosiewski, Boyle and Taufua drop out. Saddler and Burbo get upgraded. Siro and Walker are retained on lower contracts, and our squad looks a lot more balanced.

I think Capewell will be around the 600K mark, origin player and has been in decent form winning a spot over Martin on that right edge for the Panthers.

Taulagi has been very good for the Cows.

I can't see any value in Sirro or Jetski taking up a spot at any price really mate. I would be happy to spend their combined money (must be 500k?) on a great edger and look for a young guy to bring along as well on Lance's money as we have good young prop stocks.

Once again, the Fainu trial outcome will determine how much money we need to keep in our pocket for a good 9 besides Lawton.

It's probably not a bad signing if we are going to let Siro go. Capewell would only cost a fraction more because we need to factor in that we re-signed Siro when he was playing good footy and many tipped him to end up playing SOO. Thus, he was signed for a fair amount. He has regressed and seems to always be injured which affects his forthcoming deal and is not an indicator of what he is currently on at the club. Therefore, comparing Capewell's value with Siro's current value in terms of cap space is a little misleading.

When I look at Manly's squad I don't see glaring deficiencies outside of 9. If we lose Fainu, that is where our money should go. Outside of that, signing quality forwards with versatility is probably the next best thing.
