Klemmer Update

As promised....
Spoke with my Bulldog contact tonight and have been advised that Des will front a board meeting on Tuesday / Wednesday next week. My understanding is that he will be allowed to leave (loved that comment BTW) and most likely Dean Pay will be appointed within a week. It will cost Bulldogs around $300K.
This means that a number of players have an out and interest from a number of clubs is expected. Having said that, which includes Klemmer; has been offered an upgrade of in excess of $150K per season and a 3 year extension has been offered.
My mail is that Klemmer wants to play in a potential GF winning team. I hope that includes us.
Anyway a potential win for us!

He'd be a great signing. We need one more powerhouse forward to bring us a true premiership opportunity. Klemmer has a phenomenal workload, and most importantly, an attitude. He leads by example although has the mongrel and character to bring our other forwards to life. Would absolutely love to sign hiM

Imagine a set where Jake Trbojevic takes the first hit up, Klemmer takes the second, Walker/Uate take the third, Taupau takes the fourth against retreating defenders and then we run a backline play or Cherry-Evans kicks to a corner... wow, that sounds like an international or origin set

The same contact that advised me 2mths ago that Nate Myles sent text messages to players that he was leaving Manly has also advised me that Klemmer was signed sealed and delivered to Play with Manly 2yrs ago but fell through at the 12th hours over a TPA situation.

I think he and Trbojevic get on well in the NSW camp and is highly regarded by Bozo.

Let see what happens with DES im sure the merry go round will start within a few weeks whether he stays at the Dogs or not.

If he wants to win a GF he won't be able to take too much coin, players like him are the ones who hamper their own sides by commanding too much pay and ruining the overall balance of the squad.

Lel true. Honestly, hearing Burnsy mutter the word excellent in my head was the first thing i thought of. Sometimes pics express better than words, but not always.

Mehhhh. Over priced and over rated. We already have a stack of big, young forwards with potential.
I used to think Klemmer was an overrated tool, but he seems to have matured this season and he's definitely cut a lot of the niggle out of his game. He's also been the best Bulldogs forward by a country mile all year. But the biggest thing in his favour is his friendship with Jake - Jake's seal of approval is as good a character reference as you can get in rugby league. If he's good enough for Jake, he's good enough for me.

Klemmer isn't going anywhere. He and Woods will be the foundation of their forward pack. Them letting Klemmer go would be the equivalent of Manly letting Jake Turbo go, it's just not going to happen.

Klemmer & Woods are best buds and it was Klemmer who convinced Woods to move to the dishlickers so they could play together.

This rumor is just complete BS.

I cant stand the attitude which happens a lot in soccer where a player states they want to play in a winning side.

My answer would be, if you wanna play in a winning side, play better. Nothing like an entitled attitude that you would slot straight into a succesful team, holier than thou bs attitude imo.

Geoff Gerard was one of Arko's " Buy the best " policy recruits . Of course he did miss out on winning a premiership with the Sea Eagles but still played well enough for Manly to continue to be selected for the Australian teams at the time .
