Kapow - You are world class

Still has a fair bit of work to do to get past Kite

Kitey was a great front rower and until Fifita's game in Origin 1 last I hadn't seen better from a prop in a single game than what Kite produced in the 2008 GF.

I will confess to forgetting about Kitey for a moment. But overall as a player I think Marty has the potential to be better.

Marty has done really well. His aggression and off loads when carting the ball and causing havoc for opposition teams. If he can continue to use this controlled aggression out team will be a major force in weeks and years to come.

Taupau has a higher ceiling than Kite no doubt, if he plays 150 games for Manly at the level he is now, we may be talking about him in the all time side

Have wanted us to get him for a long time so was very happy when we finally did. Saw him playing for the junior kiwis, Gagai was the big thing at the time and made a break down the sideline, Marty tracked him down and took him out Scott Sattler style, always knew he would be a good player from that point on, couldn't understand why he spent so many years at the Dogs not playing 1st grade

I saw him for the first time a few years ago coming off the bench for the Dogs in some TV game, he was easy to notice - raw power and direct play.
His body shape was completely different, if anything he looked a bit overweight.
Later at Tigers he and Gavet combined to destroy Manly in spectacular fashion in a match I'd expected us to win.

In terms of impact forwards in their prime this could prove to be there up with the signings of Les Boyd and Ian Roberts.

Adam peters what a champion, 21 games in 98 for 1 try , gets better in 99 8 games for 2 meat pies .

I worked with him in Canberra for years, when I lived thete...lets just say the opening game at ANZ when he scored the first try was mentioned an awful lot. Lmao

I remember watching Marty play for the Tigers and I wanted him at Manly more than any other player in the competition; I got my wish!!! I never thought it would happen but when I heard he might be coming, I was over the moon.

He is just pure entertainment. Every time he touches the ball, it's exciting. He is really charging onto the pill at the moment and is maturing as a footballer. For him to put the offloads away tonight and just take dirty hit ups for his team, shows just how far he has come as a footballer.

When Marty is off the field, our attack up the middle and in the opponent's quarter always seems a little pedestrian. When he is there, we look much more dangerous as he draws defenders and either makes a tackle bust or looks for an offload. 200+ metres tonight (usually with a defender or two hanging onto him) was amazing.

Quickly becoming my favourite!

100%
Takes 4 to stop his momentum and have noticed now, not just relying on ridiculous upper body strength to bust tackles - extra leg drive after contact has been an extra 5-10 metres through the line. On top of this plays it fast to give his halves options, defence short and backpeddling - danger all day...then of course can offload for 2nd phase...together with Tom, DCE and Walker as a Top shelf game breaker in 2017.
