Agreed. Maybe it’s time to give the reserves forward a proper go over an extended period. Let’s see how they go. Make a cull of the forwards at year end based on how they go because we know how the current bunch go. We either start to rebuild the forward pack or do we simply accept constantly running around 8 each year. The dogs sacrificed a year or 2 for a better future and see where they are now.

Looks like it’s that time of the year where many ST’s come out with the line “maybe it’s time the reggies get a run in FG” Let it be known that whilst it’s come a bit earlier this season,it still has minimal substance to it. But the proof is in the pudding in that they are well off the mark.Have a look at the players people have been calling for to get a run over others,through the years and you’ll find that they are no longer at the club and very few are actually playing FG elsewhere

I suppose the point is we are either happy running mid table each year or we take action sooner rather than later with new forwards. Giving some Reggie’s a go can’t be a thing to do, even for a short period. Plenty of player’s weren’t given a chance and have left for successful careers elsewhere; hynes, ramien, weekes, Preston, fainu, etc.

It was an awesome performance by our forwards tonight, especially when you consider Al got injured and Lodge was ineffectual. It explains why Waddle keeps getting selected. We need him, and he is improving. Unfortunately Sippers is not quite of NRL-quality. So there is a great opportunity for any half decent prop from our lower grades.

Waddell is serviceable in the middle. As a starting backrower I would rate him the worst in the NRL.
