Josh Aloiai

I’m lumping in Josh A with the likes of Dylan Walker and Marty Taupau. Players who are not the right ones to take us forward yet we invested far too much time in them
You obviously didn't catch to many of Toopoo's games. Even Kevvie decided enough was enough and spent the mid season playing for Burleigh Bears, then got a call up with a couple of games left due to forward injuries. He is way worse than Ailoi.

Do you think Aioli would be 13 if it wasnt for jake
Starting with paseka, lodge and Aioli would be an interesting experiment and the type of rotation he may work in…….but jake

They did at the start of 2023..it was ok for 3-4 games...but it would look way worse in 2025 as jake and Aloiai are sooooo slow.

Yeah but jakey was in the rotation so it was just a number change really
paseka has improved and lodge goes alright if he stays. I reckon he will

I wonder if paseks, lodge and ailoi together starting might get us on the front foot . With too go forward props and josh his game may elevate

Defence might be SUSS

I don't think he is comparing their current games, rather, suggesting that we've got another player that looks like they're not up to it, earning a new deal.

I'd be happy if we could trade Al out the door. He's been a disappointment, and now is only playing limited minutes. I'd much rather Sippers be given his spot. At least I know Sippers is unlikely to give away as many penalties.

Yeah seems Josh has definitely lost his legs to injuries - stacked on top of Jake and Lodge that's too many lumberers by far in the pack. Pack got badly beaten against the Sharks, was beaten but more narrowly beaten by the Bulldogs and then again by the Roosters. Didn't stand up when it counted. Need changes.

We all have our perspective preferences on players
Nothing personal at all on any of these players
Players that I would not have in my Manly team....
Woods (is gone)
Parker (is gone)
Croker
Josh Aloiai
The Cookie Monster Lodge

Honestly I do like very much what Aloiai brings when he is truly fit, he really is an aggressive front-rower who will pick a personal opposing forward leader and go looking for him. But he also honestly is an even worse injury target than Lodge!

Agree, Josh's best years for us were his first two, since then not a lot to enthuse about. Does show glimpses of what he's capable of but they've been few and far between. I believe his booked in for some surgery, not sure if it's shoulder or leg, maybe both, who knows. It'll be make or break next season for Josh, we all hope its a make it one.

you can’t blame him for that mistake just after half time we were absolutely dudded by the video ref……also the game wasn’t in the balance we were gone.
Wasn't it 20-4 at that point? If we score first in the first half, we are only 10 points behind. Sure, it's a long shot but the try after that error was the final nail in the coffin.

Lodge preferred by the coaching team back end of 24.

Now Lodge is saying club wanted him and Nella to Start in 25.

Is AOA the odd man out?

Astonishing that he was resigned this season until 2027, definitely wasn’t a standout performance from him in 2024 to justify the contract extension, came to the club as an enforcer and has had a few good games but mostly an inconsistent performance.

He isn’t the lone sailor of well paid players who underperformed or didn’t play up to their salary, I think moving him on would be difficult to find a club that would take the full weight of his current contract.

Alioia reportedly on 600K a season and Jake on 950K a season is a large percentage of the cap tied up, both didn’t perform to their salary in 2024 and this was recognised by the Australian and Samoan selectors, neither played international football despite several injuries to other players.

Way I see it. We CAN'T have both on the books especially if neither is a starting Prop.
