I'm not sure he'll be sacked (nor am I sure he wont be) but we've heard a lot of the years:

"Rugby League is a game of second chances."

- translation - if you have talent, that'll be extended to 7 or 8 chances.

So Josh can roll out a mea culpa, the club can say they're going to help him, and no sackings warranted.

So either way, I just wanted to balance out the "He has to go" thoughts with the above. I've certainly thought that about players in the past only to have the club embrace their talent, I mean embrace the human with forgiveness.
Nothing to do with forgiveness or non forgiveness I suspect, just typical NRL ruthless pragmatism.

My guess is he’ll be moved on, whether by sacking or by ‘mutual agreement’ simply because Dogs could better use his fat contract dollars on a forward right now. Josh has given the Dogs the perfect opportunity to fix their roster.

Yeah, gmf... why does a bloke with a guaranteed lifetime paycheck on the table go and stab a bloke at a church dance - over somebody else's drug debt??

Do not try to make sense of footballer's decision-making processes - you will send yourself nuts mate...
thanks mate, appreciate the words you are very correct in what you said, whilst it is dissapointing need to move on

If addo Carr thinks he has done nothing wrong, does he mean it is ok to take drugs

I guess in 6months time he will be out and about playing the role model to young kids

Well you did say you lived over that way.

I better add... winkwinkwink so we all know we're 'aving a laff

"Brookie"

Everyone makes mistakes. Just thinking of a Manly Great currently amongst our coaching ranks who was in the same situation recently except he did no lie about it etc to the his club and owned the problem. It’s too easy to place judgement on others especially sports people. Kent is a perfect of example of this….

Getting a few nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes posts…and yeah it’s true but there’s a reason why it’s illegal to drive with drugs in your system. We need only look at the recent sentencing of the bus driver that killed 10 and injured many others as an example. He just made a mistake and was addicted to prescription medication and tragedy struck and changed the lives of many people, forever.

It’s important to remember that no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, just as often as we remember that mistakes can have serious consequences.

* Except for the incomparable immortal (deceased) Bob Fulton and his No 1 fan on ST, @BOZO (who has never, to my knowledge, conceded that he's ever been mistaken in any single discussion in all the years here!!!!)(which is quite an achievement in itself!)

There is proportionality to everything and you have taken my post to mean something it doesn’t. In a conversation between two people this would likely never happen ( one of the many problems with social media exchanges) to demonstrate this proportionality look at how the law will treat the mistake I have referred too vs the mistake you seemingly have deemed some kind of equivalence too just stating look at the consequences like I can not already see this for myself.

The proportionality is measured by the outcome, not the initial wrong doing. Two people can do 60 over the limit and the guy that gets pinged by the radar faces a suspended licence and the guy that accidentally kills another driver, gets jail.

It doesn’t mitigate the initial danger of the act itself. I’m drawing a comparison between the initial act and potential danger of the outcome, not the outcome itself, I.e. it’s easy to suggest we all make mistakes when the bullet is dodged but sometimes the bullet hits.

I can see a lot of flaws in this logic but it’s too hard to bash it out on here. Given your view on the proportionality being based on outcome only are you saying this is how the law works too? According to the law Josh if guilty would only receive a fine and a suspension of some sort to his licence. The bus driver received 32 years jail. The way I understand what you are saying both have put people in danger because of drugs ( I think there was a lot more to the bus driver but I admittedly are not close to this) based upon your logic it appears Josh should at least do some jail time? People are jailed for intent ( not actual outcomes all the time). How many years should Josh receive if guilty?

Agree... maybe the fact that the Football Manager is also a high-profile commentator may have painted the dogs into a corner on this one? I suspect all parties are pretty p*ssed off tbh...
A fair point / his desire to be prominent (or some may say his ego) and that impact as well.

It's not a flawed logic, it's really simple.

Drive under the influence of drugs = chance of catastrophe.

That is the only point I am making and the reason I brought the bus driver into the conversation. The circumstances and context are clearly different, hence the different consequences. Initially, I was not commenting on the justice system or punishments handed out, rather I later responded to your comment - 'look at how the law will treat the mistake I have referred too vs the mistake you seemingly have deemed some kind of equivalence.'

The equivalence wasn't the point I was making in the first place. I was merely pointing out that something can written off as 'we all make mistakes' until the one day (e.g. bus driver) that it's suddenly not just a mistake, it's a gargantuan **** up that destroys lives.

Half the league is probably doing cocaine, the NRL created this situation when they determined the ridiculously soft penalty for doing the stuff.

If they want to protect the image of the game, simple way to do it: announce that at the end of a three month grace period, all players will be subjected to a hair sample drug test every 60 days and anyone who returns a positive sample gets a 12 month ban.
