Well we have been off to a slightly rocky start but it is all getting sorted. Well done C&C for persisting and hopefully we have sorted your editor problems. And thanks Rusty for getting some news up.

I thought I would list the sites I hit a couple of times every day.

The Manly Daily. New news is usually up by 5.00 pm, and sometimes a few hours earlier on Friday afternoon.

http://manly-daily.whereilive.com.au/ home page and I check for articles on Brookie or Council plans
http://manly-daily.whereilive.com.au/sport/ usually just on Friday to get any gos from the Blindside column

ABC (normally an AAP article)

Both of these are usually pretty clean for copying and pasting

Sydney Morning Herald & Sun Herald

The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph

THe Australian (doesn't have a dedicated RL page)

These three usually will have side boxes that get picked up in a Copy & Paste and just need to have those lines removed from the article.

Sportal (good large articles sometimes but not often)

With sportal I find that one of their flash ads will usually come in on a Copy & Paste. Trying to remove it can cause catastrophic results such as all the copied text just disappearing in the editor. The best way to get rid of it is to go to the end of the paragraph just before the ad and hit delete twice and it clears it out.

http://www.rleague.com/ (rare that they have anything worth using but sometimes they are first with sponsor information and other good articles on RL in general)

http://www.foxsports.com.au/league (usually a rehash of articles from the News Ltd papers [DT & Australian] but sometimes have an article that is original).

WAMF will sometimes see a unique effort in the WA press and the Qld guys might get something Manly related attached to a Bongo article so keep your eyes peeled.

Please always reference who the articles are by and the source in the Author Alias box, and put the article's url at the bottom of the main body of text.

a really good quick way to source news is
Google say NRL then hit the news tab and then Past hour or
Past 24 hours, you can do the same with individuals and clubs

Dan, on the "add article" page the little heading on the browser tab has a typo, it says "artcile" not article. Not the end of the world I know, but just letting you know.

Guys can I just stress again how important it is to post news articles using the instructions on submit articles page.

If it isn't in this format, it causes issues with display and advertising.

Always take whatever text you want to add and paste it into notepad, then copy it out of notepad and back into the site, this will take out any formatting like bold etc.

Then place the "read more" after the first paragraph if there is any more than a line of text it messes up a few things
