JT's 10 year longevity as a prop is highly unlikely.

Then again, the NRL will more likely rubberstamp his medical retirement 😡

Big Jason sat near me with his manager during the Manly v Cronulla trial game at rat park early 2015. We obviously tried to court him, but to no avail. Maybe he wasn't impressed by the facilities at Rat Park!

It's only going to get worse.
I see it following a football model where players have all the power which will be a massive shame.

Taumalolo has the same management as Myles, Shaun Lane, Frank Winterstein, John Cartwright, Brad cheating scum Arthur and Elgey.

And they are obviously not bad at talking their clients up and doing all they can to get whatever they can out of whoever they can. So they are the real winners in this. Imagine having a job where you basically do nothing for 10 years and earning $100,000 per year or whatever their cut is. Anyway, Taumalolo is indeed talented but $1million for 10 years is just far too risky an investment for a prop, IMO.

What happens if for some reason he can no longer play after only 5 years into the contract. Will insurance cover the remaining 5 years?
Will the cows get salary cap relief for the remaining five years if he cant play? What is to stop, yet again clubs (except Manly of course) from luring talent from other clubs ala Watmough style contracts and getting away with medical retirement crap?
And will NRL player insurance premiums sky rocket if these contracts become common practice?

Ahh well, the NRL is a circus, so why not have another side show in it.
