Some tough markers here with short memories.

Jake is a bona fide Manly legend.

Maybe not at his best in 2025 but neither was Terry Randall in the 80s or Beaver in 2007 and early 2008 before he recaptured something in that brilliant end of season.

Any who thinks Jake is our biggest problem has lost me. I could name a dozen bigger issues.

PS I still think he is a 50/50 chance of being named Origin captain.

This is why as I age I'm less tied up in player "loyalty".

These days players should just look out for themselves as most fans will turn on you in an instant.

Jake 's form is the least of the team's problems , still putting in and solid defence .
Mistakes and turning over the ball again cruelled Manly 's chances against the Sharks and in complete contrast to the prior Panthers game .and thought that Jake and Burbo were two of Manly 's better performers last week .
Wish that i could say the same thing about Turbo 's game
.Not that keen on Jake reverting to 13 but guess that Seibs is starting with Bully at prop to get a bit more early up tempo then Brown, Waddell and Jake to complement the prop rotation .
Well , we will see how that goes
, Navale can hopefully introduce a bit of vim and vigor when he in on and obviously cannot be outplayed in the forwards for the best prospects for a vital win

Igor in the early 80s and Beaver in 2007/08 played in teams that at the very least made Grand Finals. This current Manly squad will need a hell of a lot of luck just to even get to one.

I agree that Jake is not our biggest problem, but he shouldn't be playing 80 minutes anymore. His old 80 minute motor is tired and getting a bit clapped out. Truth be told he should be in the front row rotation and only playing at best maybe 60 minutes a game, in two 30 minute spells.

I'd have Jake as the team captain over DCE, but his days of consistently playing 80 minutes week in, week out should be over IMO.
