I thought he was subdued by his usual animated standards but he certainly had a solid game...he seemed to get better the longer he was out there. Loz game him plenty of game time.

Solid is the word that comes to mind. Did what was needed as part of the team and kept the middle third tight in defence. The loss of Parker showed a bit last night and the maroons had gaps in the middle.

His performance was good, but didn't make a mark on the game. Although it was actually his effort around Gillet's legs that made Tedesco's try-saver look so good.

If I were Daley I'd start Turbo at lock and put Frizell on the bench for impact. I think that'd have a far bigger impact on the game.

I get the feeling that Jake will play the "solid" defence/attack player for some time in origin. Later on he may revert to more the role he plays with with us.
They can build successful origin teams around players like Jake.

I think most reasonable football judges would have known that Jake wouldn't let anyone down last night. A solid debut, and I suspect his couple of hit outs in the green and gold probably helped calm the nerves and gave him a bit of confidence he could deliver at this level - not that I think he was racked by self doubt.

He will only get better, and he could end up being NSW's most capped forward by the end of his career.

Both he and Peats showed a great ability to handle that level of footy with a calm, controlled, emotionally intelligent manner. Very impressive.

There was no hyperactivity, no erratic plays, no brain snaps and no being overawed. They will be there for years to come.
