Jacob Arthur

He's 36 before the season starts. If he did play in 26 he'd be 37. It's not impossible but the numbers would be against him. Not may 37 yo still playing at the highest level.

But as it stands he's still playing well enough and never gets injured. There's no reason why he shouldn't

As a 13 in the NRL, you need to have strength and or size, and desire to play with the big boys "in the middle"

Last time i saw Arthur he was quite a skillful but thin half back.

What am I missing as several posters on here think he can play 13?
From what I saw of them training last week Arthur has bulked up heaps, he looks to me like he could handle the 13

I cannot see the the Durable DCE Drastically Declining
Most players are not playing NRL level at 37 Due to Chronic Injuries that limit their play
Mother Nature produces some Freaks and DCE is Manlys Super Freak and is capable of producing at 37
There is a shortage of Quality Halves and Super Freaks in the game
We are lucky to have them both In DCE

Yep, he looks like he has really ‘bulked up’.

His defence has always been good and there is no doubt about his ball skills, speed and kicking game.

Ian Martin made a great transition to lock, Cliffy was okay, others like Walker have been also, so hopefully Jacob gets a shot, as clearly with Joey Walsh and Large, there’s no path in the halves for him.

Arthur is tall, a little upright in the Saab kind of style but not as much.. while many different body shapes can thrive at 13 leg drive and a desire to get dirty and willing seems to be the consistent . Then depending on size or pace, its offload or quick play the ball. This is not jake turbo really, maybe arthur, but you have to balance the pack to accomodate Arthur and that is the problem but I like arthur in the 17 somewhere

Utility from the bench . I wonder if he is doing any dummy half work. He could add something in 25

Maybe he is the succession plan no one is talking about because he is the forgotten man.

Maybe one eye is on he and brooks for 26. Jacob is the managung style half that would compliment brooks

He just brings gutsy . In limited game time i am a fan

Ps went to edit managung but now its a scoop. JArthur, best managung half in the NRL.

Has good footwork close to the line and not bad at selective passing [ Arthur ]
Still not sure if his defensive level can be a bit more robust but maybe could be .
Possible 13 and still with some reservations and a likely back up 6 for mine but very encouraging that he has apparently really put in with the pre season training and his injury issues can hopefully be overcome ongoing

I’m a small f fan of him as well just concerned there is too much emphasis being put on him in this series. Kind of like Sam Walker at Rorters.

Let him come back from his injury and show some form on the field as a first step.

Difficult being behind DCE but clearly 25/26 is about the transition and Walsh & Co are far from ready with JArthur next man up.
