FMD this is confusing.
So what was the difference when Toove's was moved on? I don't remember any of this going on when we hired Trent. Was this just a difference in the contracts? If so Trent's manager must have done a good job / someone at Manly really F'd up. My guess was this difference was Trent resigning opposed to Toove's getting sacked (and not fighting it).
In reference to my comment about Trent getting on the front foot I meant more in his act of resigning due to poor support rather than media contact, but my post was poorly worded so your comments are fair.

Don't know anything about the great man 2V's situation ....

In the Baz contract there is no information as to which party wished the 12 month termination clause inserted ..... either way it was both ways and mutually agreed ..... there is just as much credibility to the idea it was at Manly's insistence as it was Barrett's ....

If he's resigned with notice for July next year then Manly can legally pay him out till then and tell him to pissoff now. Why they haven't just astounds me.
Whoever negotiates contracts on behalf of the club is a Dill. Everything seems to be in favour of the employee. I give you the examples of Mr Plod, Matai and Brett Stewart who were paid out in full without even having to turn up. Now we're told you can resign and still be paid for a full year of non-service.
I'll have what they're having . . .

This is tiresome. I can't possibly see how we can get out of paying him out until the end of the notice period. Mr Penn starting making good decisions but appears to be getting bogged down. Two steps forward and one step back. Just pay TB out and send him on his way for God's sake. Oops sorry Mark!

There is sound legal opinion to suggest Manly may be in breach of Barrett’s contract should they announce Hasler as their new head coach, meaning the departing mentor would be within his rights to seek damages for what he is owed. Even an attempt to change Barrett’s role at the club to allow Hasler’s return would leave the club in breach according to legal sources.
even though he has demonstrated he is not what he was contracted to be ! ?
Baz asked for a Coaching Director to manage operations.

Make Des his boss then Des can transfer to coach in July.

Same result and would motivate Baz to move on :call:

Ah, so the players who set up rugby league ‘created the issues or problems’ themselves. And instead should have just kept playing rugby, even though those with rich dads were well looked after if they got hurt, but those who relied on working in a job couldn’t even support their families when they got hurt!
The simple point is, were they or were they not people you would describe as ‘lefties’? It’s not that hard a question Terry. And please, no more Kelly-Ann Conway quick-better-change-the-topic answers!

Hahaha, Kelly-Ann? Couldn't you have come up with a more relevant conservative commentator? That's almost taking the piss...

There are a few truths on both sides here.....Barrett was led to believe the quality of facilities would be improved and if they were, it was very minimal.
Take off the coaches hat and as a person, I get really pi**ed off when let down......mainly because if I have faith in someone my expectation levels are damn high, I get that part.
This however does not change coaching methods, structures, defensive patterns and picking of a team....and this is the part I feel he fell short, along with the inability to galvinate the team, which seemed very distant and the players seemed on different pages, which has a massive impression on performance come game day.
I differ from many in the sense I actually think he has a good feel for the modern game and though his performance statistically is poor, he has been up against horror injury tolls and as a rookie coach, probably melted a bit under the pressure.
I reckon the bloke tried hard but was not the right fit at Manly and was thrown in at the deep end....Gould was smart enough to sell the illusion he would be a world beater coach, yet was not too quick to sign him at Penrith...we got the guinea pig who was clearly out of his depth from day 1.
As it stands, he needs to be ushered out and the Manly management needed to have this as a priority rather rather then drag it out.
This is a horrific way to deal with fans, sponsors and most importantly - the players who deserve a solid base of where things are at......the fact it will cost money to wave goodbye, but is far more costly dragging it out....sponsorship, merchandise, memberships, results ect, ect.....

Yes they were probably "lefties". But it's so long ago it's hard to be sure. Certainly long before the lefty movement got taken over by vested interests, who couldn't really give a rats about individuals, and are more concerned about achieving power through socialist global wealth redistribution, open borders and the NWO. Do you ever wonder why there is so much lefty opposition to Trump even though black unemployment is now at an all time low? Surely they should be rejoicing?
Absolutely spot on... the days of people fighting for genuine humanitarian causes and social justice are long gone. The NWO has indoctrinated the masses via Hollywood, the music industry and the global controlled media by lighting fires inside peoples consciousness. Telling them that anyone who holds onto what might be considered as an old world belief, are just haters who have failed to move with the “times”. Children are having sexual identity forced down their throats in pre-schools for fark sakes and everyone shouts about it as though it’s a great thing. It’s causing confusion amongst little kids at a time where innocence should be prevalent in their lives. I am completely against targeting people with hatred because they are different, but ffs... is it really necessary to force the agenda of adults onto young children through the education system and the like? What a parent chooses to teach their child in the home is their choice... but using the education system to ram an agenda driven message down their throats while dressing it up as love is another. The left have succeeded in making it legal to kill a baby 24 weeks into a pregnancy (even later with the approval of two doctors) but they will demand a person be burned at the stake if they are perceived to have mistreated an animal. Farking madness.

Believe it or not, I agree with pretty much everything you just said. But to me this is an issue of social culture, specifically social justice culture, the breakdown of true debate and forgetting that this sort of conflict is, and should always be, one of the best ways for a society to improve itself. Removing this conflict and debate will (and probably already has) led to a less critical, and therefor stupider society. But it's not just the left and those who push many of these radical ideas, they come from all areas of society and political beliefs. The problem is that people believe more than ever that THEIR ideas are right without looking at the facts and reasoning behind them, and worse, blindly following popular beliefs rather than first considering the logic and facts behind them.

Not to mention gender is now fluid (a man has just won a woman's world cycling championship for ****s sake), killing two unborn 32 week old babies in a car accident doesn't count because we don't dare upset the rabid feminist lobby, any woman can accuse any man of rape based on nothing more than a repressed dream and demand to be believed (guilty until proven innocent, unless of course you are Bill Clinton), the same lefties who decry someone wearing dreadlocks as cultural appropriation gives a free pass to a female democrat senator who's claim to indian heritage is less than that of an average european migrant, its OK to openly resist the democratically elected government provided you are a lefty etc etc. The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds, but whenever they get caught in a lie, they just double-down and carry on. And yes, this is the stuff they are teaching kids in School.
Perfectly stated mate... the scariest element to this whole subject, is that there doesn’t appear to be any way of slowing the thing down. I watched something on YouTube the other night where someone went to the trouble of recording every major news outlet in America speaking about a leftist issue that they were trying to pass off as an expression of free thought. Every single one of them said exactly the same thing, word for word. They even had the same expression of sincerity and righteous intent on their faces while they read from their scripts.

I think @TerryRandall has provided a more well rounded argument on the subject than I have... particularly in his reference to open borders, wealth redistribution and NWO agenda. There are certain banking families and wealthy elites, who have been controlling pretty much everything for centuries. The issue of social justice has been incorrectly perceived as being a fight between the “battlers” and those that might be considered “wealthy” to the average man. That is a complete lie... most people don’t actually realise that around 50% of all the worlds assets are controlled by less than 100 people. And there in lies the real problem. Politics is really just theatre... it ensures the population remains divided at all times... and it’s the same almost everywhere in the world.
