Judging by the crowd tonight, the storm (I won't give my biased, hateful judgement of them) have officially become self sufficient in terms of crowd and support

Fair play to them (salary cap cheating & having 4m people in the city aside) they've got a ripper of a crowd to this game tonight with an AFL final on in Adelaide

Having said that.... I am sitting on a couch less than 2km from AAMI stadium, and haven't once contemplated going along myself... but still - I give them credit. They've almost fracked the Melbourne crowd. Well done

Mind you - people in Melbourne love any live sport.... credit to them for shelling out the $$$

And in Melbourne it's so bloody easy to get in and out of a sporting event but Sydney the travel is a day out in itself.

The Drizzle live in a bubble down there. They have everything set up to be successful, a brand new stadium funded by the Victorian government. The pick of young players from Queensland which enables them to have continuity. They are totally in denial about how clubs in NSW especially think of them. The see their crimes of salary cap cheating as an occupational hazard and over the years they have been able to retain a killer spine that has guaranteed them ongoing success. The Drizzle are I suppose an older version of what the AFL is hoping happens with GWS. Fair dues to them for their continued success, just a pity that the bulk of clubs are not on a level playing field with them.

Probably get tarred and feathered for this, but yeah, fair due to them. That is a phenomenal season and F/A. Head and shoulders above the rest and I for one appreciate the clinical precision of their games. 30-0 over the Donkeys is nearing (but of course will not match) our 2008 finals campaign. Impressed we ran them to a close game and bodes well for next year.

The Minor premiers in a one team city, playing at their actual home venue in the GF qualifer with Cronk’s last game there... that would be the same for any team in the NRL.

Nope. Manly, Cronulla and Penrith (the only Sydney clubs who don't play any home games in a major stadium) would still have to front up at either ANZ or the SFS for a "home" preliminary final.

Unless "that would be the same for any team in the NRL" was supposed to be that SHOULD be the same for any team in the NRL.

What i meant was that Storm played at AAMI Park, their actual home stadium. If Manly, Penrith or Cronulla played their finals games at their actual home grounds they would be sell outs. Playing them in home ‘city’ stadiums is not comparing apples with apples.

The NRL are sticking their heads up their arses, if you were smart you’d look at whose playing in games before making a decision that all games are to be played at central venues.

For example , Manly v Panthers , blind Freddy could have realised that they’d be flat out selling out the SFS for this game whereas had the game been at Brookvale it would have been a sellout and a hugely different television experience.

But no, #greenslime insists it’s at the SFS and then have his favoured media hammer the **** out of us for not getting 40k there, not once mentioning hardly any Panthers fans turned up at all!

Honestly it really ****s me how much of a rails run the
“ favoured ones” get.
