Isaac Luke

Would be happy to him up for 300k. He is a great player that suits our style. Very tough and solid defender. Love to see his spark coming off the bench. Has done it all before and we need some older big game players.
Could be a value master stroke signing

Would you start him for the heavy early contact (opening 20 min) or would you use him as impact of the bench?
If only for 1 season I'd give fainu 1 more year to learn his trade from the bench.

Seems a little bizarre to me. Luke has been a great player when fully fit and focused... I'm just not convinced that at 32 he would give us both those attributes.
In saying that, both Des and Maguire are the sort of coaches who wouldn't allow him to get away with anything, so I guess it could work... but only on the cheap.

I reckon Luke doesn't have much gas left in the tank anymore personally but guess you never know if you got him cheap. Depth signings sometimes come into their own at the end of the year....as we are about to find out unfortunately.

Interesting one, can see the merits in having him around at 200k less than Api, but for 2/3rds of his time at the Warriors he wasn’t very good, and you certainly wouldn’t be buying him for senior leadership and attitude

But to be fair, 2/3rds of the time most players aren't very good at the Warriors!

Hardly surprising with the absolute donkey of a coach they have lol

Shows the brains of the crew there when one of their best, most consistent players ever Mannering is doing some coaching work with the Broncos women’s side rather than involved with them

The longer I think about this signing the more I’m liking it. You can also see a long term plan here by Des to bring in Luke for a year. He sees Fainu as the future and running him next the the seasoned Luke will be priceless for his development. I say Luke would jump at the chance to play at a competitive club and to share all his knowledge at the back end of his career.
The question looms is the size of the contract. That’s where the value lies.

He's achieved everything in the game - except winning a grand final, so his motivation would be very high, is my guess. Also, not sure why some are doubting he'd be a good mentor, I can't recall hearing negative stuff about him.

Isn’t he pretty much busted..?
