Sure, but, Brown getting a virtual Loto win made DCE want to go on 9 and Fox saying I want a peice of the action as well.DCE wanted out long before Brown signed his contract
Quality does not come cheepSure, but, Brown getting a virtual Loto win made DCE want to go on 9 and Fox saying I want a peice of the action as well.
mmm...also, bad quality does not come cheap as well.Quality does not come cheep
Every Quality half will get a peice of the action
There is a old and true saying
Good quality is never cheap
and cheap quality is never good
No it does notmmm...also, bad quality does not come cheap as well.
So the club not offering him a contract after he specifically told them he would not be here after 2025 gives him the right to go on national TV bereft of club colours & blindside the club with his announcement? Surely his manager could have alerted other clubs to his availability without the appearance on channel 9? Other players & their managers seem to be able to do it.Personally I reckon the decision was made because the relationship broke down and Chez declared “not at Manly” to allow other clubs to plan for his inclusion and get their best offers together prior to November 1…
Did that benefit Manly? No. I suspect Chez does not give af because it has become clear to him that he is not a Manly priority and he wants to see what is actually out there for him in NRL land.
The resulting fallout could have been avoided if the club had just said “that sux, respect his decision and unfortunately we have to manage a salary cap and retain our future roster”…
Instead the club want to run a bs line that he is a priority still and it appears they have chosen to drip-feed slanderous bs to the media to make it look like it is all on Chez (eg. Demands for releases, a figure of $1.1M, min 2 years)?
Not f*cking cool if that is how they choose to treat the longest serving Manly player ever - and just because he did not tell them he is leaving…
If they are not doing that and there is evidence that it actually is all Chez - put up…
I like you Frank and I’m a DCE fan but I fail to see any evidence of the club not respecting his decision. Both parties agree that in December, DCE informed the club that he was leaving at season’s end. From that point, we didn’t hear boo from the club. It was DCE’s unofficial announcement on 100% Footy that sent the media into overdrive. Then they offered him a two year deal. Where’s all this disrespect? Daly sparked the publicity around his departure, not the club.Personally I reckon the decision was made because the relationship broke down and Chez declared “not at Manly” to allow other clubs to plan for his inclusion and get their best offers together prior to November 1…

Sorry. Just adding info. Not arguing anything in that post.Of course he does because he has to know what the coach and recruitment team want and relay back to them where the numbers sit.
But do you really believe he makes tactical footballing decisions that dictate whether a player is wanted by the football staff? I.e. sorry Seibs, I don’t think Daly’s what the team needs, he’s too erratic. I think a stronger game manager is needed. I’ve made my decision.
My point was that Mestrov’s opinion about Daly’s football is not part of the equation. You see all sorts of business types step into clubs as CEOs with no rugby league background or experience all the time and it’s because they don’t make the footballing decisions. I’ve heard many coaches come out publicly and state that coaches get what they want when it comes to signing players….unless of course Gus is running the show 😂
Yeah I know, apologies if the tone seemed accusatory but knew your intention and appreciate the info.Sorry. Just adding info. Not arguing anything in that post.
How do you know they haven’t been? Some players,Fogarty for example, have clauses.Rumours like the linking of Fogarty to Manly, don’t come out a split second after the club have decided to make an approach.Fogarty has a clause relating to rd6,which is the time Mestrov claims they were giving DCE to make his decision publicThe part that doesn't add to up to me is why, if they knew DCE was leaving in December, they weren't on the front foot trying to find a replacement at that time.
Or is it just Turbo to 6 and that's it?

Abrasive?I was just asking a question. If I was intending to be abrasive,I’d of put exclamation points instead of a question mark at the end of the sentence!!!Pretty abrasive way to start your reply.
Anyway, thank you for the rest of it.
Also not sure what to make of the suggestion that the club with mutual agreement was going to wait until round 6 or so to see how D C E was travelling and try to come to some arrangement then .The part that doesn't add to up to me is why, if they knew DCE was leaving in December, they weren't on the front foot trying to find a replacement at that time.

If you’re implying the club disrespected him with a low ball offer and/or no offer…does the respect not extend both ways? I.e. the club can’t afford me and/or want to move in a new direction, ‘that suxs’ so I’ll accept it gracefully and move on?
It seems to me there has to be more than disrespect here. Personally, i’m leaning towards a declined request for a release.
I suspect that has a lot to do with it…I don't understand his reasoning behind it, unless he's butthurt the club didn't come begging him after he said he wouldn't be here after 2025?
Fogarty allowed to negotiate after R6?The part that doesn't add to up to me is why, if they knew DCE was leaving in December, they weren't on the front foot trying to find a replacement at that time.

This is what I found re Fogarty contractFogarty allowed to negotiate after R6?
