Is Mestrov looking to get out?

I think it is very clear that Mestrov has favoured News Corp for a long time... Even long before the DCE saga. Brent Read and Buzz seemed to be the people Manly would send info to in the media.

Weirdo got the scoop from DCE, and absolutely nothing else after that, and hence is still pissed. He's honestly a child. Had a hissy fit about Braith Anasta saying they should get into the ring together, which would be a must-view.

If this is DCE's way of providing Manly a path to 'mend the relationship' and offer him another deal after his media campaign was immediately overshadowed by Galvin, or maybe a handshake deal that's gone cold - then I'll be picketing Brookie with a save Mestrov sign. I'm sure as the former CEO of Greyhound Racing NSW he'd enjoy the irony of it, if nothing else.

I like and respect DCE as a Manly-Warringah Sea Eagle after the initial heat and emotion of his antics subsided however, I don't respect the way he has effected the club and playing group during every contract negotiation.

I'll cheer for him as long as he's in the Maroon and White and actually having a crack, but to quote the greatest wordsmith of our generation.

"I've had a gutful of this grub" - Ray Hadley

I'll miss the player but I don't know if I'll miss the man.

You have to (well we ask you too) put your source when posting chunks of works that you (we) didn't write ourselves.

the above came from the SMH, I think.

thanks.

edit: I think it has something to do with not giving credit...as in some journos want their work shown as their work.

Anyway...Dan asked us to. No biggie
Surely you’re not describing Weedler as a journo?

While we’re talking about the friendless one, is anyone else in awe of his ability to make his articles ten paragraphs long when there’s barely enough content for two?

Mestrov is a very ambitious man.

If there are better offers elsewhere he would consider them in my opinion from watching and reading about him and listening to him over the last three years including at the District Football Club AGM’s.

Fixed 🙂

a CEO for a small family owned franchise operating out of rented premises in the outer suburbs of Sydney earns peanuts compared to CEO's of other industries ...

He would be a numbnut if he wasn't always looking at his options ...
….well we know that DCE is looking at his options …. And ‘ what’s in the best interest of his family’

Just sayin’

The SMH have always made it personal when it comes to Tony Mestrov.

Their conduct dates back to his days as the CEO of Greyhound Racing NSW and the "battles" GRNSW had with the SMH/The Age/ABC regarding the welfare of greyhounds in and around the greyhound racing industry.

They've never liked dealing with him even when he faced enormous pushback from Macquarie Street, the articles they wrote (only one journalist, Chris Barrett from memory, wrote a balanced article at the time) were always quite firm on their opinion of him and his tenure at GRNSW.

NewsCorp would usually take a more "pro-GRNSW" stance.
