It appears that the Melbourne drizzle are intending to rest up to 10 players for their clash against the Cowboys!

If this happens, its just another piece of the games integrity going out of the window! Their decision now gives the cowpokes an unfair advantage as they are battling us for a 6th spot finish and hosting the elimination semi final.

It concerns me that the NRL tolerate this and it undermines the league.

This is just going to open the door for other teams to do it too. The Drizzle say they earned the right to do this, I understand resting injured players but to do this well smacks of manipulation, just look at the odds for that fixture now compared to a week ago!

LOL. Penrith have done the same for at least twice in the last 3 years.
How did they go?

It shows total integrity from Melbourne as they want to win the comp and resting their players will help.

If Manly are ever in the same position, we should be doing the same.

Took the young fella to this game, as he's a Storm fan, and from memory the Storm team was watered down even worse.
Nothing wrong with it, I'd expect us to do the same if we were lucky enough to be in that position.

I read the comments and feedback and it is fair to say that the Drizzle can do as they please.

What concerns me is with the amount of betting in the game, what happens to those punters who beat on the Drizzle before they decided to rest most of their team?

I know in modern times teams have rested players before finals, maybe a good solution would be for all the teams qualified for the 8, that they get a week off prior to finals being played, that solves the issue and it ensures that it is fair to ALL clubs either in the 8 or fighting to get there!

AFL do pre finals bye this week.

Builds tension and anticipation for finals to start and gives clubs best chance to have full strength squads come round 1 of finals.

Swans vs Giants next week going to be epic

Yeah.....I'm on the fence on this.

Issue is, you finished 1st, win in week one and get a week off. Then suddenly you are going into a prelim with 1 game in 3 weeks.

Not sure I love that.

Won their last 3 games, the last two by 31 and 39 points respectively. Wish Manly was that dead in the water!

Against 9th Collingwood, 11the Essendon and 15th Crows.

But winning form is good form. They just dont look the same side they were, it is very open, I guess thats why they are $4.

(I had a sneaky $20 on the Hawks at $26 about the time the Swans started to look shakey).

It sure has been a topsy turvey season, my bosses son plays for Fremantle and there was a time they looked a chance. Like a few teams they crashed and burned.

Yep, that Freo game at the SCG was the start of the shakey period for the Swans. Freo looked great that day but like other teams, injuries cruelled their season. My 2IC is mad Freo fan and his Dad used to be on their board.

Anyway, go Swannies!

Is this the Forum in which we can discuss the Shute Shield?
