Injury woes hit Warriors in NRL trial

Rapira brothers Sam and Steve will both miss the start of this year's NRL season after picking up injuries in the Warriors' 22-14 trial win over South Sydney in Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

Front rower Sam left the field with a shoulder injury, while his younger brother was forced off with an ankle complaint.

Team doctor John Mayhew confirmed Sam Rapira has an AC joint problem which is likely to sideline him for four to six weeks, while Steve Rapira is expected to be out of action for the same length of time with a high ankle sprain.

The Warriors have won both their NRL trial matches against Gold Coast and the Rabbitohs, and returned home on Sunday.

Next Saturday, they meet Queensland Cup side Sunshine Coast at Toll Stadium in Whangarei before beginning their 2012 NRL campaign against Manly at Eden Park on March 4.

Scary thing about the Warriors in 2012 is the superior quality of Toyota Cup kids who are on the fringe of 1st grade selection.
Imo by seasons end there will be 3-4 players from the warriors 2011 Toyota Cup team who will not just step up , but shine in the NRL.
