Earlier in the year, a few silvertailers were of the strong opinion that Des hadn't improved any players in stint 2.0. In fact, it was argued that some of the players had even gone backwards. would be interested to see if that idea is still a thing around here?

for me:

Turbo - yes
Garrick - yes
Harper - Yes
Hank - Yes
Foz - Yes
DCE - yes
Jake - Yes
Gauc - Yes
Shoe - Yes
Marty - Yes
Frog - Hell yes
Paseka - Yes

Now being of reasonable character I too can admit that many players can and do progress themselves but I really believe that the attention to detail that Dessie brings to the table has gone a long way to getting the boys to the next level.

Depends what you are using as your baseline to measure improvement against ?? If you are comparing it to our woeful season last year then yes, otherwise some poetic licence in that list.

Its fair to say that you learn in times of adversity what your character truly is?

After four rounds there were many question marks around players who were struggling big time and we were getting lapped by opponents far too easily.

You have to give credit to Des for standing by these players and injecting youth into the team. Guys like Schuster and Oka have added so much to the team.

I was openly critical of Croker being a 9. He has got better and better each week and is now playing like Matt Ballin did, unselfish player who has really risen in performance.

The lovely thing about our team is they are quite young and there is so much improvement in them.

We also have a couple of aging halves with a massive point to prove and a gun number 1 who just wants to make up for all the time hes lost in the game.

Its only going to get better and better folks!
