Giant rugby league star Jamal Idris is being investigated by the NRL integrity unit after a late night incident at a club on the state’s mid-north coast.

The Panthers centre is believed to have been escorted from the Club Forster venue by security after an argument broke out with other patrons on Friday evening.

The NRL confirmed its integrity unit was investigating and had asked the club for a “full explanation”.

It is not the first time the former Origin player, known as one of the most destructive runners in the game, has been involved in controversy.

He was temporarily stood down from the Panthers side following an alcohol-related incident in May. That particular misdemeanour was believed to have happened on the Gold Coast while the team had a bye.
