As I’ve constantly been stating my opinion is my opinion , I have zero inside knowledge .

It’s fine for us to have different opinions BUT don’t post stuff as fact , when they are really just , opinions.

None of us ( well maybe one ) knows what exactly happened and I doubt even the media know.

1.5 million a year for two years
Then 1 million a year coaching fees for 5 years following his retirement.
And 1 million a year with channel 9 post retirement.

Interesting too that DCE wants to play SoO again this year, after earlier claiming he might give it a miss (in ostensibly his last season), to concentrate on Manly’s fortunes.

Maybe he was just intimidated by Cameron Smith’s fairly aggressive questioning, so he told Cam what he wanted to hear.

Or he is lining up a gig elsewhere, where he thinks he has a better shot at premiership glory. Therefore another tilt at a SoO series in 2025 still has a lot of appeal.

I look at it this way. DCE or whoever, is doing us a favour by departing so now the club can stand on its own two feet and move forward. How it was handled is non of my business or anyone else’s due to the fact that there is nothing we can do about it. People on here bagging DCE for what? telling people he is leaving. For the life of me I can not see what people on here are crying over. The guy has done nothing wrong. It’s just business. Stop crying and get over it. It for the best. For those that are pissed you need to clean up your bibs and get a life. Or if you’re strong enough just move on. Look at it any way you want but this has been coming for a while. We all knew it. Losing DCE now isn't the end of the world. The club needs to move forward and it's finally happening earlier. I look at it like this, "we won't win another premiership with DCE as halfback". What the club needs to do is start balancing the team without breaking the bank on certain positions moving forward.
