Agreed, he is a team player for team DCE and only team DCE. This is why we have been middle of the pack since 2014. The great players we had in the 2007-2014 teams all took unders to keep the team together and it yielded two premierships. Our 2014 season was completely derailed by the DCE circus and subsequent backflip coupled with the Foran & Gifty debacles. Our 2025 season has now been completely derailed too.
This is 100% a blessing for our great club.
The club did not accede to his two year deal wishes as they only offered him a low ball one year deal
A longer contract with a higher Value would have more persuasive negotiation power .
Even Mestrov was quoted as saying in this mornings media interview " we could have done things more differently but it is what it is ".

Again you believe what you want , Cherry Evans has history and he’s playing everyone ( including you !!)
DCE's timing and doing it public was premeditated. I suspect he want's someone to know that they are not wasting their time pursuing him. He will get a million plus per year for two years.

I believe what I heard straight from Mestrovs mouth this morning
and he said that he Initially offered DCE a one year deal which was a complete contradiction of him also saying that he always respected DCE's Terms on the Contract Negotiations .
DCE has a history of being a smart operator and he has never suffered fools gladly

Losing DCE now isn't the end of the world. The club needs to move forward and it's finally happening earlier. I look at it like this, "we won't win another premiership with DCE as halfback". What the club needs to do is start balancing the team without breaking the bank on certain positions moving forward.

To me Mestrov is no fool, far and away the best CEO for years.
DCE is orchestrating this **** show , to show the club in a bad light , because , he probably signed this deal with the Roosters months ago.
It will be a massive ( MASSIVE) offer , circa the following
1.5 million a year for two years
Then 1 million a year coaching fees for 5 years following his retirement.
And 1 million a year with channel 9 post retirement.

and Mestrov was never the master on the field and he in not the master on the Negotiation table either .
Its time to get another CEO who is capable of getting the job done
And at the Roosters he gets to mingle and network with the very big end of town and make connections that will set himself up for life after football. To be fair if we weren't so invested in Manly we'd probably understand why he did it. To him Manly are just an employer and it is just a job. He's going to a better run club, run by serious people with serious business connections, for more money and he's more likely to win a comp at the Roosters than with us. Our owners and our club are just Mickey Mouse.....
Mate he was told by DCE in December he was not going to be at the club in 2026. What else would you have had him do?
Which is why the club had to go out and offer him a 2 year deal etc - I am sure they all know it is now gone but at least they are trying to control the spin a little
