The Knights are also very ordinary, yet they have beaten us twice. Sure, we could have won both of those games, but the fact is, we didn't. Just two more wins and we'd be well in it, but sadly we've been woeful since Tommy went down.

If you are comparing the Guppies to us the difference this season is simple. They score a hell of a lot more points in a game than we do. Their go forward is better and their halves create three times the amount of chances that our halves to. I hate to say it but this is factual!

I find their team underwhelming but hey they are doing better than us lol

Sharks have got some good forwards and when johnston is on they look ok, but against say the panthers, they look avg.

Only a 3 horse race with penrith, melbourne and roosters. smokey the raiders. the rest will just make up the numbers, Souths were looking good but losing Mitchel is a big blow

The Sharks have been playing well and I have been very impressed at how well they have gone with the talent they have. They have not beaten a top 8 side yet but they have been building nicely and I would not be surprised if they knock off the Knights tomorrow.

They have much better depth than Manly. They have had a number of injuries throughout the season like Manly. Their hooker is better than Manly's. They have better wingers than Manly's at carting the ball up on the first and second tackles. Their debutants have been great and improving every week.

He was injured during the game (as normally happens to him) but surprisingly played on (which says something about their team spirit) and he then managed to score a try on one leg.

The NRL is a simple game
All players have arms and legs and the ones that can hold the ball better and tackle better and run faster and kick better have a better chance of winning games .
How the hell are the sharks in the top 8 ??? That is simply because their NRL squad is better than the bottom teams
This is our line up that was thrashed 40 to 22 and most of our points came from a couple of late consolation tries when the game was over .

If they lose all their remaining games and we win all ours, we may snag their spot in the 8 but I can't see it happening now. We have lost too many "must win" matches.

I appreciate that, madmax, I really do. But, for whatever reason, the guys we've called up to replace them haven't been able to do the job this year. The Sharks might not be great but there's no doubt they've been better than us. The table doesn't lie.

True mate......I expected the ‘replacements’ to perform better but they haven’t & the same guys have been selected every week even though they’ve not improved. I’m taking about Gosiewski, Croker, Elliott, Levi & to a lesser extent Waddell. Why Waddell & Gosiewski are preferred to Olakau’atu is a mystery! Why is Croker still getting selected?

I’ve read some of the comments on here with interest (sone dumbfounded) and wondered too around the original post. The reality is this sharks team although higher than us on the ladder are complete pretenders. They have not beaten one side in the top 8 all year! I went over all their results and confirmed same. Unfortunately you only need to be mediocre in this comp to make the 8. We beat the knights or NZ and we are up there too. With injuries we are lower than mediocre. Similar to sharks are the knights really. Essentially they are 4 points better than us this year and 5 ladder pts. Neither of these teams will do anything this year and will be cannon fodder in finals. Tge sad thing is they will be there and we won’t.

Panthers nearly put 60 on them. They are duds who have had an easy draw.

sharks have won 9 games. Manly 6. pretty simple 🙂

They have also only played 5 teams in the 8 this year and lost them all. They are hopeless. In saying that they have beaten the crap teams in their easy draw and win the 3 more games as you mention

The Sharks beat us easily and we have lost to the Warriors and Newcastle twice and were thrashed by the Dragons. And we have the nerve to try and deflect and say the Sharks are crap, have an easy draw and we should be above them.
The Sharks can score points at will, something we cannot do even if Tommy is playing.

We have been absolute poor this season and have not adapted to the faster play - Only the Broncos have been worse than us IMO.
