How long will it take Des to win a comp

Not sure if there is some sort of mass hallucination or shared delusion at play among Manly fans, but I suddenly feel we are back as contenders already. The mental aspect of the game is so important, surely our camp will be buzzing all summer.
(Provided, of course ... that Barrett isn't a continuing distraction!)
So I'm with Cambo, 2020 or 2021. A grand final at least.
Yup, mental aspect is the most crucial part of a premiership winning side

And we’ll have the Manly mentality back in 2019

Dare I say it, he won't get us another comp

Reason I go that direction, is year by year this competition seems to get more and more in favour of the clubs like the Roosters, Storm and Broncos who seem to have unlimited coin and have things stacked in their favour week to week, and the NRL may end up turning into an EPL where it is the same clubs at the top each year while the other battle away below the chosen bunch

Stats don't mean much, but for some weird reason I like them. Here are some stats around Hasler as a head coach. He has coached 14 years of first grade. Over those seasons, this is where his teams have sat at the end of the Round Robin (on average):
Ladder position average: 5.86(th)
Defence: 6.5(th) best
Attack: 5.64(th) best
Based on this, I say we will finish ........ 6th.... or maybe 5th @:D

Good to see some voices of caution warning against expecting too much too soon.

We won't really know until the season is under way, but the surge of optimism from fans, coming from the low point of despair we were at, is almost unprecedented, at least in my memory.

If there is a similar surge in intent and belief in the playing group, then expect a very big turnaround for us quite quickly.

Reminds me a little of the Chooks signing SBW for 2013, along with a couple of other handy types such as Jennings and Maloney. Suddenly they had belief, they knuckled down, and next minute (with the help of a couple of forward passes) ...well we all know what happened. They finished about 13th the year before but with one key signing the entire mood of the place was elevated dramatically.

Des won't be on the field making breaks or tackles but the improvement to the mood of our camp could prove just as significant.

Will be fun to watch and find out, anyway!

How long will it take Des to win a comp ?
Des cant win it on his own. He needs to get the right players to help him achieve this task.
The answer is when Des finally sorts out the quality players from the average players that's when he will win a comp .
The moral of the story is Quality wins comps
To win the comp we need to be more dominant than the opposition
We need to be stronger , faster and more smarter .

and betterer!

On the flip side how triggered would Bulldogs fans be if he got the job done in 2019.

I don’t think we have the cattle yet to do that.

I’m expecting a mini cleanout either before the season starts or before the start of 2020

People I expect to be moved on would be
Perrett if he isn’t gone already
Crocker
Hodko
Winterstien
Groweski or whatever his name is

I'd be pissing off Fainu as well. Can't tackle.

and the NRL may end up turning into an EPL

Interesting you say that. The NRL recently changed their App logo and its pretty damn similar in colour and style to the EPL logo.

I’m like many, I feel Manly will make the top 8 next year with an outside chance of making 5 or 6. But after that I can see Manly be a regular in the top 4 and making a few grand finals. We have a very young team at the moment, just like we were at the beginning of Des’s last reign and with a bit of tweaking we can be a very dominant team for many years to come. This is just the beginning of another exciting period and I can’t wait till next year when the footy starts again.

2019: 8th or 9th
2020: Top 4
2021: Grand final
2022: Premiers

And there you have it folks... the only team to have won a Grand Final in five consecutive decades
Sounds like a good game plan.
Premiership wins in the 70s 80s 90s 2008 2011 and 2020 s
The one and only Manly Sea eagles !!!

That’s what will make it sweeter, once again, when next manly get a premiership. Probably won’t get exactly to top four in 2019, though we can push for an early 2020s premiership if this decent squad is fine tuned, then build long-term success off that. We once were accused of being the Silvertails, and successful because money, though we are the only club to have proven that money isn’t what makes us successful. We are one unique team, and as it’s happened before we’ll do again, under the radar.
