Happy Api

I knew this thread would rise from the depths. Where are you turbo1?
From the bits I saw of the game today Api was good. Will watch the full replay later.
What a team effort.

I didn't think that API was our long-term hooker either. I always loved his fierce tackling and his enthusiasm but didn't see him troubling a team in attack.

The last two games have won me over. As our forwards have got on top, he has blossomed in attack. He goes himself when there is a quick play the ball and gets us going. And I love his timing in defence - he really hurts them sometimes. Good technique!.

1st game where his passing has looked decent. Still floating a bit but at least these were out in front allowing our forwards to run onto it.

1 game does not a season make though.
The bulldogs passes out of dummy half made him look even better.

It seems as though we're playing with a style that is compensating for the fact that he can't pass very well.

I'm a huge fan of the way he has a dig, and his creativity and toughness... I'm still worried about his passing but it's hard not to like the guy. If we can keep winning like this then he can throw as many dodgy passes as he wants.

His passes were on target, and crisp last week as well. Maybe you edit your post and add, 2 games doesn't make a season.

Last week they were not crisp or on target enough. There were still passes at the head of players at times far too often. It was better last week but not NRL standard, unlike this week which was ok.

I would still like to see what Hastings can offer as starting hooker then lest Api run riot against tiring defences.

Just watched replay.

Will go so far to say that that was his best game in manly colours. So credit to him.

However. As much as I would like to be proved wrong I'm still not sold. Look if he's a world beater by seasons end and has played a big part in the rise of the eagles then good luck to him. Let's see.

He hasn't won me over yet but I am warming to him.

Passing has been much improved the last couple of weeks. Still a few balls missing the mark but they are now the rarity rather than the norm.

Credit where it is due to him and the coaching team getting on top of this major issue. Still room for improvement but if he keeps going like this then he could well prove to be a very good all round hooker.

Thre whole team is playing well. Api is doing some good things from dummy half. His passing still needs to improve.

There were patches there where the roosters were so dominant and gaining field position based off the work friend did at dummy half.

Lewis brown was also very good against the feather dusters.

Api is looking better. No doubt. At this moment he looks a different player to the guy from last year and 1st 2 rounds.

Perhaps he's a confidence guy. Last year most were saying that parcell was the man in waiting and Api was keeping his seat warm. This year the brains trust sell his biggest opposition and say to him your our man.

Still not in top 5 hookers in comp but improving. Good luck to him.

As for his only oppisition Hastings isn't a true 9 but could be one day.

Anyone noticed how API has that little no-look pass when running from dummy half? Which is a confidence play, and requires his team mates to know what he is doing and run off him, which means good communication and understanding in the team. They have gelled with their hooker and he is starting to lead them around a bit more. Me like...
