Larissa, or whoever is in charge at MWSE for competitions such as this:
can you please publish the winning entry? It was 25 words why you love the Manly Sea Eagles?

I'd like to read the winning prose, as I'm sure would others on this Forum.
    Thanks,

Come watch the Sea Eagles soar,
They'll lift your spirits, the crowd will roar.
Such skill, and guts. They're legendary!
      Current faves are Foz'n'Cherry.

If that was the winning entry then it was well deserved.
I'm always wary that such competitions are a lucky draw rather than won on skill.

It wasn't. Unfortunately. I just made it up after reading your post.
        And I don't mind bones's entry either.

I contacted the competition organiser and asked if they would publish the winning entry. I did this to satisfy myself that the competition was based on skill, rather than a lucky dip. They refused to publish the winning entry which I can't understand if, as they assure me, it was judged on merit. I thought it would be something we would all enjoy reading.
However, this is the last correspondence I received from them:
The terms and conditions were on the web entry form at the bottom of the page and can still be found there now.
The terms and conditions outline the information that was to be published on the close of the competition, as I have previously outlined and we have in respect, fulfilled this commitment. Please accept this as my last correspondence on the matter.
        Kind Regards,

So in other words, one of Bianca's friends won the prize. ;)

That's the speculation that can arise with such competitions when they aren't prepared to publish the winning entry. This competition was endorsed by the MWSE. Why the secrecy?

Years ago a friend of mine who worked for a national snowboarding magazine asked another friend of mine if they wanted to win their competition for a new snowboard.

Other friend said no, wouldn't be fair.

So I agree, I reckon a lot of friends 'win' these comps.

The competition was won by Rhiannon Coulton.
I presume she is a MWSE member.
So, Rhiannon, if you're out there enjoy Hamilton Island . . . and let us know your winning entry.
