"training with" and "signed with" at this time of year are two different things. There'd be players at all clubs "trialling" for a contract in this part of the pre-season. If "training with" post Xmas, then you could safely say "signed with".

With all due respect I highly doubt that a 20 year old clean skin with (from all reports) above average ability, would be floating around uncontracted for next season.

And also in light of the fantastic communication with previous signings ala Isaac John, there is form from the media department.
