Manly coach Trent Barrett has praised the kicking game and calming influence of recruit Blake Green, declaring his remodelled attack "more stable" heading into the 2017 NRL season.

The Sea Eagles beat the Sydney Roosters 24-22 in a trial at Gosford on Saturday night with new five-eighth Green providing the money ball for centre Dylan Walker to score the winning try in the 75th minute.

I was so so about Blake when originally signed but the more I see and hear the happier I am. He just knows his role so well and already is utilizing the speed and skills of the Walkers, Turbos etc. These fellas are gonna have a field day running off Blake in 2017. Also read somewhere that his talk is great and it's like 'having a coach out there.' Could well be the buy of the year this bloke.
