Great Tries

Found a bunch of clips on youtube of some pretty good tries from yesteryear, thought they were too good to keep to myself.

If anyone has any links to top tries or anything above standard, do share. Love this stuff.

RE: Good Tries

Always remembered that stephens try. Back then, i cant remember where they came from but there were collector cards about tries. They were a footy field graphic, the players were and X with their names and they had arrows as to what movement they made, and players they beat.

As a youngster this was my favorite card of all. I loved it

Anyone else remember these ?

There was a try that Toovs set up against Penrith for Craig Hancock, where he ran from the scrum base and beat about 7 tackles. Had it on video but its long lost. Would love to see that again.

here is one of Tooves

Souths V Manly at Redfern Oval 1987 - Full Game With Freak Try By Ron Gibbs

still love watching that try dce scored against the broncs from the pick up & pass all in one by stewart, but the best bit of it is if you watch ballins reaction - once dce has caught it he turns towards brett with a 'what the?' look on his face

Phil Blake was an astonishing, unique talent. Certainly provided many magic moments.

and then of course

speaking of reminiscing ...

after watching the souths game i have concluded that Ward must be Watmoughs father, no way can 2 players in maroon and white have hands that bad

Loved going back to those times. I thought Daley had a terrific game. Funny that as I always thought he was a soft player, only getting in the team because of his old man. He went well. Gibbs was great, what a defender and such a punishing runner of the ball.

I think I may have been at that game. Redfern oval was always a dangerous place, especially when they lost.
