With the NRL wanting to kill off Manly I think it's time to go the other way and expand!!
Half the matches at Lottoland then the remaining half split between North Sydney oval and Blue Tongue.
That gives us everything North of the bridge and East of the highway up to say Budgewoi and we could have a strong rivalry with the Knights! We'd have plenty of juniors coming through and the NRL couldn't kick us out.
Not a merger. That didn't work and wouldn't work here.
I could even dust off my old Northern Eagles jersey !!
I know the Bears are currently a feeder club for the Roosters but Nick could be reasoned with. He's a nice man.
Benefits:
-we could claim "foundation club" status.
-Our finals wins go up by 2.
-Passionate greats like Greg Florimo can drive the promotion on the North side.
-Huge junior base.
-JT can become an NRL assistant coach again. Perhaps even be allowed to touch the shield in coming years?
-Coasties get to go to a home match without the huge journey.
-After game drinks at the Central Coast Leagues and Norths Leagues. Both great places!
-City/North Sydney workers actually have a chance to get to Thursday or 6pm Friday night matches.
-No need to listen to Todd threatening to send our mighty club out of the NRL or worse, to South Brisbane.
-I could probably take the fishing boat up to the Coast game although that's a bit sketchy, plus no drinks.
-I quite like Coasties. They need a team and it has been sad they have been ignored for years and had their juniors plundered.
-North Sydney oval is a quite nice place to be and well equipped. Bluetongue is one of my favourite stadiums.
-Wyong Roos are a great side! Again we would have to ask Nick politely for them but I'm sure he'd be happy to say yes. Perhaps a straight swap for Blacktown? No idea but it's an idea. My cousin lives very close to the ground so I could crash there if we had a "testimonial" at Morry Breen.
