Today I had the task of booking grand final tickets for 10 people.
Every year a group of us go and we have always been able to sit together as previously you could visit a Ticketek outlet and book the tickets as a group.
This year they decided that you could only book by phone or online.
Their number has been engaged since 10AM this morning and it is impossible to get through. So I decided to order the tickets online.
I had 4 codes that were given to us by the NRL to book. The first email from the club stated that we could only get 1 ticket per member and this morning that was changed that we could get four tickets.
I used my code to order some tickets and as I was doing it, my screen refreshed and all of a sudden my code was invalid and I had to start all over again.
I tried to book a family pass and tickets for 6 adults and all I got was frustration!
In the end, I was able to get 8 x 60 dollar tickets and the 2 blocks of 4 tickets mean that we are not sitting together.
Surely Ticketek and the NRL can get their **** together with this process. It was an A grade hassle to get the tickets booked. As a member, there has to be an easier process like, maybe giving each club a select amount of tickets for their season ticket holders so that you can contact your club and get that done without delays being on hold.
This will be my 19th grand final and over the years I have really enjoyed the experience, especially when the Eagles soar to victory. I again look forward to this one.
