Can't say I want either of these sides to win but it should be worth watching. This is the GF that has been on the horizon for a couple of months, both sides pretty much full strength (how do they do that??) and looking in the right mood.

Probably prefer B's to win this as I hate the idea of dynasties (unless it's Manly) and the P's streak has gone on a bit too long already.

I saw both prelims on replay and there was plenty of impressive stuff from the 2 winners. They are the level Manly has to get to next year!

Let’s all have a chew!
Both teams have been far better than team 3 and down. In fact have said it before, imo there’s not much difference between team 3 and 13 this year.

As much as I hate to say it I’ll prob be supporting the Broncs next Sunday. I’m over the Panthers.

Based on those teams performances this year, it should be a very good game of footy. Broncs season injury wise couldn’t have been better. In fact players have actually had good (if that’s possible) injury breaks that have served to refresh them by being out for short periods rather than lengthy stints on the sidelines. Imagine if Manly had a similar experience?

Both teams are very fit and seem to not get many injuries.

Manly ourside of DCE are unfit in comparison and we get lots of injuries.
Penrith players can be in a tackle, then run back to their defensive position and move up fast in D, and do it all game.

One would seem it's obvious what we need to do in the off season. But will we?

I agree injuries are key, but I don't think it's that simple. Dogs were fit, so fit the players were unhappy with getting flogged so much, yet they were worse than us. Turbo's injury was nothing to do with fitness, nor Paseka, Aloia, lodge etc.
In this era I think most teams would be on a similar level fitness wise, with a few individual players as exceptions.
One thing about the GF sides, they have a lot of young players, early to mid 20s. Reynolds is about the only old one (and he gets plenty of injuries.)
If Paseka and Sipley can play a full year that will take Manly up several notches just like that.

Penrith by the length of the straight.

Don't really get why people are turning against them other then they win.

Broncos are, for me, in the same bucket as the Storm, Roosters, Parra, Dogs and Dragons....absolutely NOT!!

For me next weekend will come down to who I dislike least - Reece Walsh or Jarome Luai. Can’t decide at the moment
Yep, they are two of my most disliked players in those two teams too but I am also not a fan of Nathan Cleary either so that has me tipping towards the Broncos to win this one plus I like what Kevvie has done with that side since he took over as their coach.

DCE hardly gets tackled while running, that's a big reason why he hardly gets injured.

As for the entire team being like the Panthers without being injured, I think 16 teams would like to know how they do it...

As much as I go with the rest of you lot, the Broncs for me, again like most I cant handle either sides arrogance and I live in the Penrith Catchment. I work with a lot of Panther fans and they are so cocky and that annoys me bigtime. Yes they are earned the right to feel good about their team but some just go overboard

Geeze. If Manly were in line to win three GF's in a row I'd be so cocky I'd have to wear a jock strap permanently.

So DCE being extremely fit as well as aerobically and great flexibility has nothing to do with it? He is by far the fittest guy in the Manly club and he is 34. He gets tackled a lot when he stops and does his helicopter circles.

Neither does Turbo, but he can get injured without a hand being laid on him.
Something seriously wrong with his flexibility fitness. He is only one example.

When Cleary first started coaching Penrith, they had lots of injuries - but not now. He is certainly doing something right with his team.
I believe Penrith and their fitness regime is specialised to the individual a lot more than any other club, as well as all the team drills.

I said it is a big reason, not the reason.

Yes he is very fit, remarkably so for being 34... BUT in that comparison I don't think you can discount the impact of not having to take the ball under your arm and get smashed by multiple 100+kg blokes multiple times a match, 25+ weekends a year, for 10+ years. Being tackled/held while already at a stand-still and getting ready to play the ball is not the same. I don't think it is a coincidence that Cliff Lyons and Cameron Smith also played NRL until they were 37 either... they hardly ever allowed themselves to be tackled, which is a luxury not many players have.

Whatever it is that they're doing, I'd like to know. I don't think it is just coaching because Ivan had been an NRL coach for 13 years (including once before at the Panthers) before he got this current coaching gig.
