He is an absolute champion but change is part of life and like a few others from our peak period, the time had come. If he hadn't suffered that knee injury I probably wouldn't have minded the club passing on one of either Koroisau or Parcell and use Ballin as the back-up (brings great experience, etc), but he was already slowing down considerably even before the injury.

Ahhhh yes the Manly legend, Matty B, a true gentleman, with loads of integrity, down to earth, loyal and talented etc, etc.

Really difficult to see him in anything other than the Maroon and White and knowing it was not his choice to leave, still upsets me to this day.

Anyway, I really hope he has a bloody awesome game on Sunday and I wish him all the best with the rest of his playing career ............!!

Would love to see him back at Manly in some capacity in the future.
