A MARATHON EACH DAY........
Giant Steps is a school for children with autism.
Students range in age from 3 - 18 years. 
Government funding meets less than half the costs associated with running the school, with the shortfall raised by the families and friends of Giant Steps.

This weekend a small group of Giant Steps parents and friends will be walking 150km from Lake Macquarie on the Central Coast to Giant Steps School in Gladesville, Sydney. 

This four day challenge symbolises the daily struggle and the journey of autism.  The 150km also represents the prevalence of autism, which affects more than 1 in 150 children.

All money raised from the walk will go directly to the provision of services for the children. 

What has this got to do with Manly?

Well, Football Club board member Philip Dean whose daughter Shelby is a student at the school is one of the walkers as is Sea Eagle Board member and Eagles Angel Melinda Gainsford Taylor will also be walking today to add support to the event
