Well to answer your first question if you were DCE would you put your body on the line for these guys who are more interested in gang stuff that representing the Manly Sea Eagles. The answer is no way, and you could see the in the way DCE played. He just ran around in circles and palmed off the ball to others.

This fracture is extremely deep, and it’s going to take a lot to get this mob back on the same page.

Maybe we should let them all walk. Like @RedPill said, all we remember is that it was the worst performance of the season and that we got flogged. We don’t care about gangsta signs and street solidarity.

Sorry, Red, but do not agree. The fact is, these men do have free will and were free to express themselves as they chose. The other side of the coin, which you seem to consistently leave out of your argument on this topic, is responsibility and consequences. They can express however and whatever they like, but they also accept the consequences of doing so. Too many over-simplify the issue of "freedom to express". And to your point that the average person would have no idea what the signs mean .... of course they wouldn't, but what of two (hypothetical but likely) young kids - one who finds the gangs attractive and is thinking of joining, and one who's family has been threatened by said gang. They'd know and are far more likely to react to that than they would think a rainbow on a jersey means they should go looking to love a kid of the same sex.
