Garricks performance at centre

Reubs is still a winger, he got into space yesterday and didn't even realise he could pass to Saab cause he thought there was only a touch judge outside him, only had eyes for Turbo on the inside and almost bombed it cause of that 'winger muscle memory's.

Wow that is a touch harsh always easier to pass right to left and to the most dominant player in the team demanding the ball. Did you see his flicks to Saab last week.

he is developing the stevie matai skip when rucking it out. making defences pause before zooming on

still needs more time. progressing ok atm

Pass to Tom was the far higher percentage play in that situation. Reuben got it right.

He definitely made the right decision here, as when in open space with a fullback in front coming across towards the sideline, the inside ball is the option every time as if you go out to the winger, the fullback has a shot at him as he is moving in that same direction as the pass, whereas back inside his feet are turned out making it almost impossible to change direction back to that inside support player.
I do feel IF Garrick passes to Saab he likely scores also, but that's only because he has extrordinary speed and if it was the average winger, would have been tackled into touch.

Hard to tell how he’s going, the last few games nothing has been thrown at him. No set plays or decoys just simple one on ones.

That's a very fair call, but I will say Garrick has looked more patient of late not simply rushing in and up for no reason, which earlier in the season was making the decision for the attack to exploit the holes he was leaving....for this I give credit as improvement, but as you rightly state, the real test will be against the better attacking systems, with better shape and bodies in motion, which includes the Roosters next Saturday night.

Let's see how he goes up against Manu , Suaali , Tupou and Young next week.
Hopefully Manu will be missing. But you are correct, a true test comes next week. They have a few out but so do we. On paper, Easts are by far the best team in the comp. But having won just one match from 20 against Penrith and Melbourne shows that money doesn't necessarily buy success.

He's looked much better in the last two weeks but they were very open matches without much defence, Easts are a quality side and he'll be tested.

I agree with a lot of comments on this site. As I said, Garrick is one of those players with a sensible professional attitude to his game. He doesn't over reach himself, doesn't make many mistakes and he learns from those mistakes he makes. In many way he is like Jamie Lyon in temperament, though not quite as talented...at least at this stage Like Ben Trbojevic, he improves step by step. Sometimes he is outplayed, but he seems unflustered by this and learns. As a centre, as with his time on the wing and full back, he's a steady influence. Not the most spectacular, but far better than average. His time at centre has had some ups and downs, but I can see improvement overall. Whatever position he's in, he plays with common sense and commitment. Good steady influence in the back line.

I just watched the Titans first try again down our right side and it looked a little too simple. Rewind the set play, surely not? It was such a simple play surely Garrick is not to blame again?

Kelly takes the ball, ok, Fifita sweeps on the outside, ok Fifita has now become Garricks man, Garrick can surely see Fifita sweeping around thus leaving Kelly for DCE. Garrick goes for Kelly creating an overlap. Still has no idea in defence.

Definitely warming to him at center as he is giving it his all.
Still not sold defensively on rubes there but he is improving. However in a team that has Ferraris like Saab, Pepsi and turbo you kinda forget that rubes has speed to burn.

Garrick speed comes after about 5 metres of running, then he is fast.
Does he train with Fabri like Saab - he perhaps should.

Watch it again, dce doesn't cover kelly allowing Kelly to run to Garrick. Dce watches and ends up marking nobody

Lol if you two still see it differently after having stop frame replays and a week to think about it ... probably just highlights why making instant decisions on the fly can be a little tricky at times!
