We turned up with good enthusiasm in the first 20 and caught Penrith sleeping. We failed to take advantage of that enthusiasm and made some silly errors and poor 5th tackle options despite Penrith staying asleep all that first half. We should have gone in much further in front at half time.
The second half was shambolic. It was mostly a very poor referring performance that saw Penrith giving an absolute lift with a glut of penalties. It usually involved them getting a leg up out of their half and putting territorial pressure on us. It was just baffling to watch the refs pull out a random penalty against us and ignore it when it went the other way.
Referring aside, we fell back into a disorganised rabble in the second half, especially after losing T-Red (are we ever going to get a break from fking injuries?). We did defend a lot better than earlier in the season, but the disorganisation and poor options killed us.
Horo [shakes head]. Would have been a decent game without a few errors and butchering TWO potential tries. What was he farking thinking by trying to throw a dummy at Moylan from 40 meters out instead of passing wide to Jorge? Bewildering really. Mateo also had a shocker, but could give him some leeway as he just came back from injury. Nevertheless, we did seem to lose some momentum as soon as he came on.
