GAME DAY - Manly v Bulldogs [Round 1, 2016]

What side did Green play in his centre days ?? I assume Brown will play left, so does Green play right edge ?

Lussick will need to deliver some goods as he is keeping some decent footballers in NSW Cup and on last years form he can consider himself fortunate.

How good is footy season! Just can't wait to watch our mighty Eagles play.

If Snake plays we win by 13+, if he doesn't we win by 8 or less.

By 1030 pm on fri we will have a fair idea about everything. Barrett's selections may be a masterstroke.
If we can see out the first half without conceding too many points we should be OK. The dogs will fade in the second half. Big forwards in the heat will be easy pickings for our faster more mobile guys.

The thing I'm really looking forward to (and this applies against the Eels as well) is them coming up against a team (us) that they don't have an intimate knowledge of the game plan. @:D@:D

Green was a left centre inside Brett Morris for majority of his FG appearances. I too expect Lewis Brown to play on the left so it could mean a shift to the right for Green. It also appears that he has edged out Tom Symonds and he plays right edge, so I suspect your assumption is spot on.

Great to see the side after all the talk in the offseason.

Agreed the big call is Green in at backrow. I will be very interested to see him play. From what I'd seen he seems to be very similar to Tom Symonds, lanky, runs lines well and well... ginger. However, again like T-red, is his aggression up to matching it with a big pack? That's what I'm most interested to see.

Can't see why people think T-red is better than Brown, it seems people are really put off by his size?? Brown brings aggression and starch for me, and having played at centre has a bit about him going forward too. I think he's a strong choice, and (hope I don't eat my words) I think he will win most over by seasons end.

I've made the point a few times before about 'size' of the pack. Last time we beat dogs we had a starting pack of something like BJ, Matty B, Starling, Symonds, Buhrer and Lui. We creamed them and their big boppers, and finished joint top on the ladder.

People need to chill about size, and worry far more about effort and defensive structure.

Would have gone a different direction against the biggest pack. Api to NSW Cup for match fitness, Pacell to 9, bench of Lawrence / Starling / Lussick / Mateo, Vave 18th man.

Looking at this team we are likely to be steamrolled up the middle. Heaven help us if we get an injury to a Prop.

New interchange rule may work against the dogs, so barret is going with what seems to be bigger minute forwards.

I don't think Trent has this right…and yes time will tell and the game has not even been played, but i think he has to take the blinkers off the new guys he has recruited and look at also what he inherited.

I think playing such a small forward pack against a quality pack is just utter dangerous.

We need Lawrence, Vave and Mateo in the line up……ASAP
