Galvin

It goes to show how poor the Manly club is, and how inexperienced the people running the club are. The club has no clue on how to build a roster that can challenge the top teams or even win a premiership. The Manly club is only making the numbers and is only in the NRL competition to make up the numbers for the NRL to sell the TV rights. I've been a member since 2011 and in recent years have been optimistic about our future moving forward, but the future is only looking more grim with no improvement in sight but more of the same garbage we have been accustomed to since 2014. I have slowly been winding down my membership until I decide that's it, which will much sooner than later.

If he is smart he will be thinking ...
Thats NRL , Thats Business
Clubs look after them selves just like players look after them selves
Time will tell if Galvin is just another Schuster type signing.
Problem is you have a group of guys that worked hard together to be 1st place on the ladder, only for a blow-in to come in and be 'That guy' who calls the shots. Now they have to change whats worked to accomodate him.
He would have been better served going to the Eels, where his legacy is not on the line from the get go. He is expected to deliver a premiership straight away.

There is not one million dollar player in that Dogs side. They’ll offload a few, with Mahoney leading the way.Say what you will about Gould, but he knows the tricks of the trade of the salary cap and how to manipulate it without breaking it.Shows you what a good coach can do
Didn't say anything about Gould actually. Just questioning how a team can keep on buying and we cant. So Burton and Crichton aren't million dollars players?? Crichton signed in excess of $800 and has been given an upgrade and extension. Burton almost $900.....Kikau.. Mahoney... both on upwards of $800 (allegedly). All im saying is it adds up and always does elsewhere, at every other club, except at our joint. And if you really believe Galvin and Isaac Moses are leaving over $1 million on the table, you believe in the Tooth fairy.

May I also say good on them, as everyone who has rich owners and rich sponsors seems to do well, although the salary cap is suppose to be the same for every club.

Fringe first grader at best?

The guy leading the entire league in total try involvements this season with 27.

The guy with 105 first grade appearences?

Please!

He has played more QLD Cup games than NRL.

Enough said.

A well run club.

I'm with you Frogz.

Since they started to build, they've bought.

Mahoney
Kikau
Burton
Xerri
Crichton
Tupouniua
Taafe
Treacy
Mann (SOO call up)
King (SOO call up)

And now they add Leo Thompson and Galvin.

They're not all on huge coin but guys like Connor Treacy and Kurt Mann have really shown their worth.

They also got rid of 30 players in a 2 or 3 year period, MASSIVE clean out without having to pay anyone out.

Very rarely does that scenario present itself as 30 different contracts usually overlap.

Whilst that is very true it doesn't help when we have state and federal govts addicted to gambling revenue like junkies allowing the perverted proliferation of gambling pubs, clubs, casinos and online betting everywhere you turn.
It's the same thing with everything unfortunately. If there's a demand for it there will be a supply.

The 3 players you named,by your figures, are all on less than Manly’s 3 highest paid players,so there’s 1 answer to how they can afford it.And Gould was mentioned as he is an expert in how to deal with the cap.As I said,I suspect Mahoney will be out the door soon enough

The whole NRL is in on it, even Pointsbet is still a sponsor of Manly
I deal with organisations like your major sponsor and they are the most reprehensible, insidious organisations this country has. They prey on the weak and gullible of society. No better than organised crime gangs.

Yep for $400K a season less than the Tigers offered, if reports are accurate.

Manly panicked and signed the games slowest half back in Fogarty. I dont mind him but he is fringe first grader at best, really Reynolds would have been a better option.

They should have held off and now signed Sandon Smith. A Gosford junior and we would have had a half/5/8th for 10 seasons. A cracking goal kicker too. With Smith and Walsh we would have been set beyond 2030.

Its a real circus these days.

Just another bad decision imo.

PS I'd still go after Smith now and move Brooks on.
Fogarty showed some toe in the game today mate? Slowest 1/2 in the NRL? Noway. DCE would have that mantle.

Walsh & Large…..we are set beyond 2030!

You're missing my point, but don't worry. We are dumb is my point. Everyone that is successful isn't. If those 3 players were at the Bulldogs, Roosters, or Melbourne, they would not be "signed" as an over a million dollar contract, they would be on $850, but still get the same "nett" yearly pay, as the millionaires do.

Whoever signs him must do so for market value. None of this he wants to win a Premier BS. The Tigers offered him 6.5 million for six years, an amount that must be reflected in his new clubs salary if the NRL serious. I'm sick of the double standards we see between the big clubs and the rest.

This is why everyone is confused!
