NRL boss David Gallop was yesterday forced to defend himself against claims he has cost rugby league tens of millions of dollars after shunning two formal proposals to bid for a slice of betting turnover on the sport.Just last week Racing NSW won the right in the High Court to impose a 1.5 per cent turnover tax on betting agencies. The measure cleared the way for Racing NSW to collect a $1 billion windfall over the next 20 years, and another $100 million in back payments.

One more cockup to add to the list from that incompetent latte lawyer. Rugby league will never progress until this clown is purged from the game.
 
As a result of the court decision it is definitely something from which the NRL can get leverage. To align with just one agency like they have is seriously limiting. On those figures it is worth pursuing.
 
I remember Gallop stopped us from getting a betting agent on board as a sponsor. What gives with this clown? Bringing the game into disrepute is about all he ever does.
