Rabbitohs v Sea Eagles

VENUE & TIME: Aussie Stadium, Saturday night - 19:30 AEST
COVERAGE: Fox Sports
LAST TIME: Sea Eagles 48 - Rabbitohs 14 at Brookvale Oval, round 7, 2005

WALKING WOUNDED
The Rabbitohs expect skipper Bryan Fletcher and hooker Shane Walker to return next week from hamstring injuries, while centre Lee Hookey (ankle) will miss two more matches.
Sea Eagles centre Terry Hill (groin) is out indefinitely, while forwards Ben Kennedy and Steve Menzies will be required for Origin duty. Props Brent Kite and Kylie Leuluai are both out suspended, while interchange forward Daniel Heckenberg's injured shoulder will keep him out for up to a month.

FORM
The Sea Eagles proved they could win away from home with a huge result against the Roosters last Friday night. Down 6-14 at half-time, Manly showed plenty of ticker to grind their way back into the game and take the points and retain second spot on the NRL ladder.
The Rabbitohs claimed their first NRL points since the bye in round eight and a win over the Knights in round five. It was their fifth golden-point game and their third drawn result at the end of extra-time. Should have beaten the Bulldogs after leading 13-2 at half-time.

WHO'S HOT
Sea Eagles skipper Michael Monaghan, who needed a man-of-match performance against the Roosters to convince Manly officials to re-sign him. He did that and latest reports suggest the Eagles will finally snap him up. Rabbitohs second-rower Mark Minichiello had a massive game against the Bulldogs, scoring a try, making two line-breaks and 139 metres in attack. The only flaw in his game is a tendency to do crazy things at crucial times. The grubber kick in his own half during golden-point time last week was one of the more ridiculous things seen on a footy field in ages.

WHO'S NOT
Sea Eagles second-rower Anthony Watmough has paid the price for his lack of size and an in-house incident during the last Origin camp to be dropped from New South Wales squad for game two. However he can't be criticised for poor form after starring for the Sea Eagles against the Roosters last Friday night. Scored the opening try, made 31 tackles and 151 metres in attack.

LIKE TO SEE
The Rabbitohs forwards take full advantage of an understrength Manly pack. The Bunnies got plenty of drive up the middle from their big men and a repeat performance will put them in a position for a rare victory.

WE THINK
This could be the upset of the season, with Souths fielding a near-full-strength line-up against the Sea Eagles, minus five quality forwards. Without the constant drive of Menzies and Kennedy, Manly will struggle for the sort of momentum they've been accustomed to over previous weeks. The last time they were without Kennedy, points were hard to come by and they lost. Keep an eye out for boom Rabbitohs youngster John Sutton. His offloading capabilities are a revelation. Rabbitohs by 4

Meh. We beat them the last time without Kennedy, the game is really in our hands, if we turn up switched on, we win.

Should be a shilacking, the dogs were dreadfull last week.

Our players stepping up should be hungry and Watmough should spur them on.

im not overly confident of a flogging but i think we should get the win, similar strength sides to 2004, we beat them away then

I think that is a pretty fair preview actually, if they don't beat us on Saturday I reckon they will never beat us - even with orford and Anasta.

no question its the best chance any team has had beating manly this year, thank god we are playing the bunnnies, no doubt Choc will be pumped, if he plays to his ablity he will be the best player on the field by a country mile, superman will hopefully capitilize and no doubt we will see the many fre flowing back line movements we are used to! ?!

Their forwards are good at making the metres. It is whether they have the strikepower to get over the line and also if we can defend as well with the side we have on the paddock.

Monas kicking game and territory will be vital!
